Bullshit. It was mostly inspired by russian mob movies like Eastern Promises and the mafia arc was inspired by The Sopranos.

Except the core of Scarface was the fact that Tony was a ballsy but ignorant, dumb guy off the streets getting into a game run by viscious, calculating men, and although he went up the ranks he was too simpleminded to handle it. Tommy simply does not fit this character type. There'a absolutely shitloads of flicks about Miami and the drug trade, and "small guy climbs to the top" is a structure as common as bread and butter.

Then he's wrong. VC is full of 80s references from other properties, San Andrea's has inspiration from way more than just M2S, and there's nothing similar about Leon and GTA4 outside of the fact that the main protagonist is a killer from eastern Europe who is in NYC.

it doesnt work like that retard. it always parodies the multiple crime media of the years before it. As anyone knows breaking bad was the biggest inspiration for GTAV. crazy characters, the humour, over the top shit happening, etc.

Well I mean right down to the game finale being a shootout in the main character's mansion. I'll give it to you that Tommy was more intelligent than most of antagonists he went up against, though. That's a clear, clear difference.

If we're talking main lead, sure I've watched plenty, but Franklin sure doesn't strike me as a Blazing Saddles, Friday, Bad Boys, Goodburger, I, Robot, Training Day, or Don't be a Menace to South Central while Drinking Your Juice in the Hood type. Maybe Boyz n tha Hood, but he's too old.
