What are the definitive platforms/editions to play these games?
Sega Games
You're fine getting Catherine Classic and Yakuza 0 on steam. Just emulate OG P4.
PC because they're all cheap as fuck. Eventually PC for the entire yakuza series as well if Sega gets off their asses and ports 3 - 6 over like they hinted at two years ago.
This
Don't listen to this fucker. P4 Golden on PC is the definitive way to play it, best visuals, all the QoL changes + everything else that was improved in the Vita release back in the day. Just because emulating the PS2 original is free doesn't mean you should go for it over a proper port.
P4G and Yakuza 0 are at their best on PC.
With Catherine, you're missing some content from the recent re-release, but if it's anything like other Atlus re-releases you're just missing a mary sue girl and wish fufillment endings that are at odds with the original story.
Yakuza 0 plays well on all platforms newer than the PS3 since it's so goddamn easy to run.
P4 is visually superior on PS2, but if you want to play Golden then the superior version is the Vita version since that's portable.
Give me one reason to play OG P4 instead of P4G on PC. Is it just because of the nerfs?
>want Catherine Classic and P4G for Switch for that sweet as fuck handheld experience.
>only get nu-Catherine
because those retards will defend emulation over legally owning a game at basically all situations
see Mario 3D All-Stars shitstorm over the past month
>P4 Golden on PC is the definitive way to play it, best visuals
>P4 is visually superior on PS2,
Who was in the right here? Also: Any other changes?
PS2 version has visual effects that just aren't in the other versions of the game. The lack of those effects don't really matter if you're playing Golden on Vita since the screen is so tiny you don't really notice but once you pump up that resolution in the PC version it becomes very noticeable.
Not that it really matters that much.
People complain about its visuals on Golden (PC) because it's a PS2 game stretched to full HD resolutions. It's not a remake. Even so, it's not worth dealing with minor graphical/sound hiccups in PCSX2 emulation over a proper port.
sega buying atlus was pretty good lads
Golden on PC is a port of the Vita version of the game and that version is missing some visual effects that were present in the PS2 original.
>The personafags got their golden scraps.
>I just want a sign that we'll get proper SMT ports or even the PS2 era Devil Summoner games on peecee.
I don't wanna pay full price or more for a used copy of a Aspect Raidou v. King Abaddon God dammit.
Okay. So Steam release is the way to go then. Thanks user!
Just get it for like ten dollars on PS3 or emulate it
Damn. Those aren’t running well on PCSX2?
Get that Dreamcast collection if you haven't already. Lots of essentials in there for only 10 bucks.
Sure if you don't mind missing the fog effects.
Bigger downside is that you have to deal with Poochie.
What's so good about it? Sonic Adventure 2 is the only game that I'm remotely interested from the bunch.
I'm not into Sonic Adventure or 3D sonic in general :(
Best way to play P4 is not at all.
Get a life.
the biggest hurdle is what the code base for any game looks like. if it's all assembly then you might eventually get an official emulated release. if it's not, then there's always a chance some recent college graduates will be tasked with porting the game to pc as long as they continue to sell.
SEGA Genesis Classics sounds like a better deal to me. Even if you can technically emulate all of them, having online play, achievements and some comfy room to chill and browse your library isn't something you can easily setup on Retroarch.
Also, it has the only Sonic 3 (official) copy for current platforms...

Rundown on why P4G is inferior:
>Game was made to be easier thanks to shuffle time becoming more broken
>You can now get spell cards which breaks the game even more, making summoning Persona worthless
>New character that must be maxed social link to have the best ending in the game
>"Ihateyoustupidfacejerk"
>Shitty voiced poem quotes at random moments, you can't skip them
>Worse voice acting
>The fog effect is worse now
>The new dungeon is just a shitty gimmick dungeon that takes away all of your gear and items where most of the time is waiting for your SP to fill back up with every enemy resists physical damage
>The new month during the winter are mostly pointless, doesn't really offer anything besides a romance scene and shitty joke scenes like scary story telling
>Worse opening intro
Skip Crazy Taxi though. It still continues to be a shitty port. Frame drops no matter how good your PC is. No fixes were ever made for it.
Oh, by all means they're good on PCSX2 with a bit of tweaking. It's just the desire to have as many games as possible in one ecosystem you know?
My dumb ass never took the time to think of it this way. I guess the probable pc port of the Nocturne remake will see if it justifies sacrificing a few Japanese code monkeys for the greater cause.
Is TW Warhammer 2 fun? I looked up some gameplay, and it seems like it'd be my thing, but I'm a little hesitant because I didn't play Rome all too much.
>game needs tweaking to be fully playable
>when you mess up with settings, something else breaks
>have to config each game individually and pray the same cfg works when changing to another game
