Play game on PC with Dualshock 4

>play game on PC with Dualshock 4
>turn off game, put PC to sleep / charge Dualshock, go to sleep
>wake up to play game again
>Dualshock not working, have to repair it with its bluetooth
>Dualshock 4 pairs, but refuses to stay connected for more than millisecon
Well fuck today I guess.
Fuck PC gaming.

Used dualshock 4 with a pc for a year, never had this issue. Have you tried connecting it via cable?

This is the same guy who connects with wifi in competitive games

I have the charging cable but it does not make the controller "readable" to use on PC. It only allows the battery to charge.

you're using ds4windows right? If not then try it.

DS4Windows does not read the controller.

Weird, it supposed to work like normal. Are you sure that your charging cable can transfer data? If not try using another cable.

It is the only cable I've owned.

Phone charging cable? Old ones still use micro usb

check if your ds4 appears on devices and printers in the control panel and remove it, then pair it again. pressing the reset button on the back of the controller might also help.

Btw, have you tried to unpair ds4 in Bluetooth settings and reset ds4?

I got two xbone controllers that refuse to work with batteries. I use to have them wired on my PC for years without batteries in it. Decided to dust off my Xbone to play Sonic Unleashed. Popped in a set of brand new batteries. Nothing. Swapped a working controller's rechargeable battery pack. Nothing. It's not like I had old batteries in them to rot. They're both permanently wired controllers now. I'm not the only one this has happened to eithet.
PS4's shit battery life, Switch Pro's absurd price and awful dpad and Xbone pads failing. This Gen has had some awful controller designs.

>dualshock fails
>DURRRR FUCK PC GAMING
its never there fault is it

I have gone ahead and used a Restore Point to three days ago, when I know for a fact the controller was working. Will post again shortly.

It works on my PS4. Yes it's the PC's fault for shitting itself for whatever reason.

No, its your fault for being pc illiterate

>gaming day ends like any other day
>all of sudden pc says "no" with no reasoning, doesn't even tell what the issue is
Yeah it's definitely my fault. PC gaming is a fucking joke for the sole reason of shit like this. Either spoonfeed me and every other "PC illiterate" poster here (who don't have the answers either, mind you) else fuck off back to your Genshin Impact session.

If you eliminated that the controller as the issue then you only have one culprit left. The bluetooth receiver you're using to connect to. Unplug, replug. Uninstall the drivers, reinstall. If you're still having issues, verify one more time that your controller and PC are able to see each other by making a direct connection with a working USB data cable. The one you have only supplies power. You have to have another. There is no way in 2020 you don't have a pile of them from all the electronic shit you buy. They basically toss those shit at you like AOL trial disc.
This has nothing to do with "PC Gaming". It's a faulty hardware component.

you're like a parody of the average console peasant. You own the PC you should take care of it.

>blaming PC gaming for a controller that wasn't even properly made with it in mind not working
>blaming PC gaming when you probably went full retard and fucked a basic thing up

what next OP you gonna try using an adapter to plug an xbone controller into the PS4 then say "fuck sony" when it doesn't work?

I mean there is software to actually use Dualshock / Xbox controllers on PC.

Just use the xbox 360 controller my dude

The micro USB ports are feces and both the cable and port can get bent out of shape easily. Often times making it so it can't do proper data transfer anymore and can only kinda charge.

Sometimes it got so bad to the point where my controller can only charge with a charging dock since it plugs in from below instead of the micro USB port. The DS4's should've gotten a USB C refresh, but planned obsolescence and all..

I have Restored back (four) days. I have uninstalled / reinstalled drivers for both the bluetooth device and the controllers. I have checked both controller's charges, and they are at full charge.

Yeah, but can your PC read input tho? I could be wrong, but with my experiences usually at a point these controllers only work in *a very specific angle* cause the ports got bent a little.

Also I have a very similar issue to OP, but that controller was shocked by my little brother, so it's no surprise.

HOWEVER, on another controller this issue can be fixed for a few days by resetting the controller with a sim card pin. But it gets messed up after you disconnect and reconnect enough times.

Try disabling DS4 support in Steam.

Steam usually fucks with non-Steam games when you try using controllers for them.

>put PC to sleep

That means it's the controller's fault, dipshit.

>then say "fuck sony" when it doesn't work?
Nah.
He'll say fuck Microsoft because Sony is his god.

>fuck PC gaming
more like fuck your shitty controller battery you dumb fuck, it tells you not to overcharge it

>Not to overcharge
Do you realise that any thing with a battery released in recent 20 years stop charging after reaching 100%. You can't overcharge a battery unless you damage a circuit
