i was just thinking about this earlier today when i went through the Spider Breeding Pits in Dark Alliance 2. too early in the game to have gotten any good AoEs so i just ran around kiting spiders with a shortbow.
if the boss is literally just a copy/paste of itself then yeah, it's lazy, but if the multiple bosses each have their own mechanics and nuances it can be pretty cool.
