Why doesn't 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim do well in the west?

nice

>anime game
>on playstation in the western markets
It never stood a chance.

$60 VN
Weeb game exclusive to platform that hates weebs

Its a visual novel and Americans can't read.

Because it’s a VN with no gameplay

Why do Japs think their basement budget crap is worth the same as AAA games that cost tens or even hundreds of millions to make and have photorealistic graphics? Your games never stood a chance, get it through your fucking heads. By the time the game came to the West it was already one year old and you still priced it at $60, absolutely disgusting. Shouldn't have been more than $20.

Because they are actually good games, go drink your 'lent and fuck off, tranny chud.

Why does so much good looking /m/ content have to turn out to be either totally uninteractive or the least fitting genre possible? It's always cool robots, but then it's just an RTS, or a shmup, or a platformer, or whatever the fuck else that isn't actually very fitting for a giant robot experience.

I'm unironically just in it for the robots. I don't want it to be about the pilots instead. I want it to actually be about the robots.

Should had released on a platform with real Japanese games fans like PC.

it has too much text
it's on a dead platform
it's not on Switch or even PC

they have self respect

I don't care if it's good or not. I actually play a lot of Jap games but I never pay more than $20 for them because their production value doesn't warrant any higher price. It's even more jarring when it takes months or even years for the game to be localized yet they still price it as $60 as if it was a brand new game. No nigger, your game already looked dated when it launched in Japan and it's now even older and is competing with brand new AAA games with state of the art graphics. You're not getting more than $20.

same as crash 4. over priced. cant wait to see all the next gen 80£ flops

Because making that cool looking /m/ shit takes lots of resources to become playable. It’s easier to just make a shitty JPEG simulator, RTS, shump etc then bait people in with cool concept art.

The premium is to support these small developers. I happily pay that much for Japanese games.
Overbudgeted western shit doesn't need that kind of help.

Niche games have to be pricier to cover the development and publishing cost

>support incompetent trash that takes 6 years to make a VN that gets FPS drops on fucking PS4
Some devs simply don't deserve to be around. When Western indie devs like Larian make Divinity Original Sin 2, sell it for $45 and then make enhanced edition for free, I can't justify paying $60 for Jap basement budget trash.

That's only because Japs are incompetent and take forever to make simple games that would take a year at most for a similarly sized Western studio. Atlus is 100 people short of Bethesda and takes 5 years to make a fucking dungeon crawler. Pathetic.

It's not on PC.

test

>Should had released on a platform with real Japanese games fans like PC
The crazy thing is pcfag on Zig Forums genuinely believe this. You niggers only like the most lamest of Western shit like RTS games.

>anime high school setting
>mechs
>VN
>not over the shoulder shooter
It's normalfag repelent, it also didn't make any controversy over big sorceress tiddies this time.

>PS4

Say how would atlus react if they a skyrim sized succes though

I bought but it haven't played it since I need to finish Nioh 2 and Crash 4 first

>Anime high school

Yeh and OP is a RTS with heavy VN elements. Should had been on PC instead of the SJW platform.

>The premium is to support these small developers.
Yea, this excuse flew 5, 8, 10 years ago.
But now?
No, this shit doesn't fly anymore, devs like Koei Tecmo and Atlus have been selling games for $60 for fucking years now, they don't need anymore support at that pricerange unless they're even MORE incompetent than previously thought.

It will never happen unless someone whips the whole studio into shape. They're making essentially the same games since forever and only improving graphics and presentation a bit (which doesn't mean much when they still look 2 generations behind). They never introduce new meaningful mechanics and never go beyond their comfort zone. Something like 5 mln lifetime sales for Persona is the peak they'll ever get unless they start to actually innovate and expand with mechanics. Project Re:Fantasy will be important foreshadowing of the company's future since it's a new IP. Will it be something different and innovative or jest a fantasy reskin of Persona/SMT.

pcfags hate Japanese visuals. It wouldn't do well.
The only reason P4G did well was due to being a critically acclaimed JRPG priced at a measly $20. This is a brand new IP with a price of $60. It would only do well on PS4 or Switch cause pcfags are poor.

It's boring
