this game has a very subtly change playing hard mode, the crab battle in the tower, you could be crouching on the lower platform and still not get hit, in hard the platform is just 1 pixel lower, but is enought to be hit. Also the big horse who fires arrows in dracula castle gets new moves

like all castlevanias at that point, game has multiple endings, dont worry about trigger the bad one, you will cleary see what did you missed to get the good one. I still suggest spam attacks every now and then so if you find a breakable wall, move trought it, often hides skills, gears or equipement. Or just by crouching on a very pelicuar spot
also if you manage to kill a boss without getting hit you get a medal for that
