Declining playerbase, lack of good updates and even if most people ignore the blantant cheating in the scene this year it was discovered a old bug that invalidated the entire online scene, since God knows how many teams won online tourneys using the camera cheat, discrediting "competitive" CS even more.
Most people who still play CS are people who sunk over 1k hours and still play for the little dopamine of getting a good game or playing with friends.
