Not refining what made it good and just adding shit on top of it. Harvest Moon now is another story though. The devs took the gameplay concepts and fucked off to make Story of Seasons. Current Harvest Moon is garbage that just has the name.

The best Harvest Moon IMO.
The original on SNES, BTN/FOMT/MFOMT and 64 are magnificent. Magical Melody and Animal Parade are worth a try. Many fans seem to like AWL so I'll mention that too.
