The writting quality took a nosedive.
It's the ugliest looking game of the trilogy.
Animation is ABYSMAL.
Only a third of the cast is enjoyable.
Junpei and Akane return but they might as well could've replaced them with new characters because they act NOTHING like their previous incarnations.
Too many recycled tracks, and the good ones are overused to the point of tireness.
Main twist is very stupid and instead of feeling shocked, you'll feel insulted and wondering if the writer is taking you for a fool.
999 and VLR were kind of whacky when it came to Sci-Fi but ZTD takes the pants-on-head approach and introduces FUCKING ALIENS.
It end in a fucking cliffhanger and the motives behind the game are very stupid.

With that said, it DOES have its moments, but overall, it's pretty underwhelming. In another thread, user described the game perfectly: "an enjoyable disappointment."

i just wrote 5minutes to tell you why it's bad and then deleted it acidentally. just don't play it, ending the story on a cliffhanger is much more satisfying than this pile of horseshit. it's not even funny how bad it is. the whole game feels disjointed, the puzzles are trash, the game retroactively ruins perfectly fine characters and many more reasons to dodge that bullet

No, it's still good.
People say some characters are unlikeable. But the same can be said about 999 and VLR.
People say the plot twist is retarded. But the same can be said about 999 and VLR.
And so on.
I really think people hate ZTD, because the series became too popular, and it's not "muh niche DS/3DS/Vita game".
Sure, the 3d graphics are mediocre, but thanks to this, the game at least has some animation, unlike 999 and VLR.
IMO: 999 > ZTD > VLR

I heard many bad comments about it but I don't know if people dislike it because it's genuinely boring or because of that SJW scene.

If you thought uchi should shut the fuck up about his WHOA ALTERNATE UNIVERSE sci fi shit then it's really good. Comedy is a hit or miss. It's like a Jackie Chan film mixed with John Woo mixed with Phoenix Wright with a sprinkle of sci fi stuff.

You'll probably enjoy it if you liked ZE, I'd say it's about on par with VLR. And honestly the LGBT shit isn't too much of a deal since it's mostly optional, aside with being forced to interact with a pretty annoying gay/trans character, but that didn't ruin the game for me.

Honestly I’m surprised how little I see that complained about, it was fine in 999 given how small everything was geographically but in VLR moving from room to room towards the end of a route when characters ran through multiple rooms was the fucking worst.
