What went so wrong, Zig Forums? Also, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla thread.

Assassin’s Creed hasn’t been good since Brotherhood

there is no good reason to be excited for anything ubishit

The viral marketing campaign hasn't started yet

vikingshit is a horrible setting and the inevitable norse mythology it will feature is also extremely overdone

I would honestly be surprised if even 5% of Zig Forums give two shits about Assassin's Creed. I've personally given up completely on Activision-Blizzard, Ubisoft and EA. Rockstar is probably the only big player I still have faith in.

This
Even as a R* fangay who owns multiple copies of older GTA games after GTA V and RDR2 they are going the same way as every other AAA dev

i really liked origins but that was solely because i was extremely thirsty for an egypt setting

I liked Odyssey but mainly because I loved the Greek shit. I hate Viking aesthetics so I'm not interested in this one bit.

Literally the worst time-period to put an ass creed game in. I know the brand name means nothing after the last one, but still...

I take issue with king alfred being the antagonist

Assassin's Creed lacks cute waifu

Red Dead 2 was boring cinematic shit. Only a retard could enjoy that game

Normal, well balanced people play ubisoft games once in a while and then never think about them again once they're done. They don't dedicate their lives to video game franchises

>wanted to buy it
>wasn't on steam
>bought cyberpunk instead

Franchise fatigue. Valhalla could be the best one since Black Flag and I won't know a damn thing about it for months because they stopped making these games fun and relatively concise, and made them into live service slogs that sap my time and patience.

These games are so Designed-by-Committee, they lack any vision or soul.

i mean, i knew it wasn't my cup of tea, but it's clearly a fantastic game in terms of production value, attention to detail and volume of content. GTA 6 is probably the only game that could make me feel "hype" of any kind. that and maybe HL3, if it's non-VR.

they are not "live service" in any way.

>GTA 6 is probably the only game that could make me feel "hype" of any kind.

how can you be hype for a gta game its just the most mass market shit

whoa look at that, huge animation budget. now do the same 4 things 300000000 times

the only games to get hype about are unironically indie games

i wouldn't be hyped unconditionally, but it's a game title for me that, if announced, I would dive in to learn everything there is to know about it. even GTA 5 with its shortcomings felt mindblowing at first.

GTA Online killed my faith in Rockstar.

>game about assassins
>set in Viking lands where most building are mud huts with a few small castles
At least in Origins there was a lot of shit you could climb to sneak into places. Seems like the only way you can be an “assassin” in this game will be hopping from bush to bush until someone walks near you

No, it isn't. RDR2 is incredibly 1 note. The gameplay is super repetitive, movement is unresponsive and the world is empty besides like 4 duels. It's just cumbersome to play. Graphics arguments can be made about ubisoft games too

>even GTA 5 with its shortcomings felt mindblowing at first.

man as someone whos played games for a long time i just....dont fall for these i guess

they do nothing for me at all. its gameplay from years and years and years ago, unimproved, packaged in set pieces and nice animations

they do have the best IK system and best ragdolls though.

Nobody hast trust in the frenchise after Odyssey

>ass creed 12
3 of these was enough

>6 days to launch
>190 days to piracy

Just like red dead redemption 2 we won't get any meaningful discussion going for at least half a year. Everything before that will just be shills shilling shills.

since odyssey they aren't ass creed games whatosever. really more akin to skyrim.

the new one has legitimately much more exciting features than any other AAA coming out

>call of duty
>assassin's creed
what game series stopped numbering sequels at some point? gotta hand it to final fantasy for sticking with the numbers. I'm actually surprised far cry 6 still carries the numbering.

>I'm actually surprised far cry 6 still carries the numbering.

but it doesn't since it's actually 7, since there have been two half-games

Ass creed has always been a shit series, the old ones at least had some semblance of a cohesive story but that's about it, the new ones try too hard to be the witcher but without any memorable characters or set pieces, not even worth a pirate.

>Rockstar is probably the only big player I still have faith in.
how exactly? their newest game is RDR2 and the online mode is one of the worst things i've seen in a game since i was born, i gave up after GTA 4 since they never gave a shit about hackers, so i only bought RDR2 because the last one was extremely well done and god... there is only two games i regret buying in my life, PUBG, and RDR2, both of them belongs in the trash of the gaming story and rockstar is to blame for it.

Yeah but she'll never be back in another game ever again

too busy shilling WD Legions

the series is pretty played out.

well I would place odds of 50% that Rockstar will, maybe for the final time in their history, deliver a fantastic singleplayer experience to sell GTA 6 to the masses. of course online will end up being the focus post release.

After seeing legion I lost hype for valhalla not that i had much in the first place.
