DLC has been perfectly fine, not taking Min Min into account. Byleth was a perfectly fine addition from a great game and brought a unique and interesting moveset that Fire Emblem desperately needed.

My only complaint is that Joker got in instead of an SMT character, and obviously fucking Min Min being boring as shit.

I've had more fun using Min Min than anyone in the base roster. I even dropped my 4 mains because they either got too many buffs (Ness) or got way shittier (Mac)

Am I supposed to give a shit? Before Persona 5, SMTIV was Atlus's best selling game and SMTV is going to impeccably well. It's been around for longer, is more important, and had longer ties with Nintendo. Also it's just the better series. The obvious middle ground would be to pick Jack Frost, but Joker's spot absolutely should've belonged to Flynn and even before I was an SMT fan I knew that much.

We've had bows and swords since 64. The lance is just the Vampire Killer but much, much more powerful because muh DLC. The aerials are just copied from other attacks or serve the same fucking purpose.

I played min min a couple of times when she first came out and thought she was really boring. been playing her more recently and she's actually pretty fun. She basically forces you to play the game in a completely different way and it's satisfying to get the hang of it. Definitely a case of a character being more fun to play than to watch

You basically need to play like you're playing a match of ARMS. Even if she's missing a proper charge mechanic and an air dash I'd say she's pretty close to how she plays in that game.

I've never played Arms but min min getting in actually got me kind of interested. I'm a bit on the fence about picking it up since I tend to drop fighting games quickly, but it looks simple enough to get into without having to devote an assload of time just to be decent

This exactly, imagine trying to use "this character has long reach!" as a talking point for your fighter being unique when we have a ton of zoners and especially zoners with weapons already. Corrin and Byleth occupy the exact same niche but Corn at least has the pin.
People did really shitty snap takes on Min Min day one, she can't just camp at the edge of the stage, she has to constantly weave in and out of her opponent's range since she gets punished bigtime for letting them in, but unlike swordies or projectile based characters she doesn't need to play the average whiff punish or techchase game since she has half the stage to do it. Definitely top 3 most unique newcomers but filters casuals hard.

You might as well stick to smash honestly, ARMS is good and still active but it's got a totally different skillset and a lot to learn.
