Its a masterpiece

its a masterpiece

Im usually not into JRPG's, I played pokemon as a kid but nothing ever pulled me in. Then I finished IV and went on to the sequel, and holy shit, its so good

enjoy it op its one of my fav ffs and one of the better jrpgs on the snes. fixed some serious flaws i saw in 3s job system(i really like 3 too) and had the benefit of a cast of characters i could actually like.

Exquisite taste

I liked 3 as well, all things considered. Fun jobs like devout and magus. V is my all time favorite RPG and FF game though. Nothing after it has quite captured my interest the same way

The job system is a great customization system and the more lighthearted tone is a nice break from the usual, but the story is lacking and the music is forgettable

FFV is top tier. Smaller cast of characters in-between IV's "Everyone dies but not really LOL" and the fuckload of people VI. Galuf's death is fucking metal, 3 worlds to explore, intense job system autism and a motherfucking twig as a final boss. It's an absolutely stellar game and everyone can go fucking die if they disagree.

translated snes or gba

>but the story is lacking
story is like, one of the least important parts of a game

I like it but i have no idea what the characters are supposed to look like

FF5 is based

i played 3-4-5-6 and the only memorable one was 4

Finished it at the weekend, it was great. Inspired me to go back and finish Bravely Second and Octopath, and then try FF6.

In terms of gameplay, its one of the funnest FF games. Job system is flexible as hell, and you can run the game with some absolutely ridiculous party comps and still come out on top. I really recommend doing a challenge run like the Four Job Fiesta to see just how much the game has to offer.

BARTZ NO!
You're supposed to have a threesome with the sisters, baka!

>dude Im dead!
>nah just kidding lol

the green girl coming back as an adult was kino

Wow, you're really selling this RPG to us user

How can you forget Exdeath's theme? Lena's? The song that plays right before you battle tree Exdeath? Jesus user

Rydia coming back is pretty early in the game and she just disappears after summoning something
>Monk dies
>Not really lol he's just resting in the bottom of a fucking dungeon
>Palom and Porom kill each other
>Not really they show up on the cutscene later on just fine LOL
Compared to
>LOCAL GRANDFATHER TOO ANGRY TO DIE

>mfw just bought a copy the other day

are there any major missable in either games to look out for?

i barely remember anything from the 4 games bro, they are all pretty forgettable in the big picture

Is the GBA version any good?

yes.

t. playing it

>sell this game to me!111
Robust job system that allows you to mix and match classes, for example a white mage that uses black magic. Can tackle battles in some very creative ways like mimic x-fights (it's busted, but the point isn there's choice). Sold

It's vastly superior game to IV and VI and any FF before it. The story may not be incredibly complex but it's very well told, has stakes, likeable characters and villains, and feels cohesive, complete, and satisfying, unlike IV and VI.

V is great, but ff12 is the real masterpiece and is also more underrated

That was my first post and I'm not here to sell you games, I just hate games being dismissed because "the story wasn't good enough."

why is the strategy guide going for 50- 60 bucks

wtf

FF12 is great, but overall the true masterpiece is V. It's perfection.

Imagine being this wrong. The only argument you have is the normal battle theme isn't good and only because it's short.

>comparing the 3-D games to their 2D counterparts

are you drunk on ale again tina!

I love the battle theme. It is on the short side tho

6th genfags always feel compelled to compare V to 12.

It has few good ones but compare to most any other FF game and you'll see why I think the music is forgettable.

you idiot, don't play the PSX version. Literally 5 seconds to open the menu
FFV doesn't really have major missables other than very specific items. Also can't make any permanently bad decisions in builds either.
FFVI has 1 major missable around mid-game.
>WAIT FOR THE DUDE, UNTIL THE VERY LAST SECOND.

FF12's job system really sucks

12 is too much like an MMO for it to be a masterpiece.
