It's complicated as hell. Those who can't handle it and are too scared to admit it say the game is just for autistic people as a coping mechanism.
It's not complicated in itself. Craft stuff, craft other stuff using that stuff. End up crafting the stuff you need to win. But if you want to run your shit as efficiently as possible it can get very complicated.
It's fairly easy to win the game, but chances are your factory will look like a fucking mess.
it starts fucking your brain at blue science and later on
still like the game
its not, you can technically brute force your way to the rocket, optimizing the factory to do it in those 1 rocket per minute speeds however is complicated
Learning the logic system and robotics made my life 100x easier
its a rabbit hole game. you will suck at it, get a little better, start over, get better, get better, start over, get good, get really good, start designing massive shit on paper/mspaint for literally hours, then start over, get really fucking good, etc. its a
its complicated, but its not *that* complicated, chances are you are small brained
It's not really that complicated until you reach megabase status, and even those can be done lazily by making everything huge. The game is all about optimization.
>its a
user!!
SNIPE
I felt the same way when I started. It gets easier when you take some time to break larger ideas down and learn about it in small bits. Don't try to learn and do everything at once. Have some maps where you don't care about losing.
This shit absolutely blows my brain
My recommendation is to not play the tutorial. Play free mode and figure it out yourself. It's slower, but the understanding you build of the game is more solid.
look up self building factory, it uses a mod but its still impressive
give satisfactory a try. not as deep, but it focuses more in exploration as well as building and since its 3d you can think vertically. two really awesome games to let your imagination run wild.
Probably both.
You could try shapez..io
It's very similar in many mechanics but simpler and with an easier learning curve.
its as complicated as you want it, you dont have to go full autismo engineering
is this guy like a low level graphics programmer who got bored of doing this at his job at nvidia so he did this in a game?
I cant even comprehend how this is possible
It is and it is not. When I reached petroleum the first time I got confused and overwhelmed as hell, until I learned how stuff worked. Then it was easy again.
I recommend you start your initial run in pacifist mode to understand the system and get a feeling of ratios without feeling bad for spaguettiying it up. Next time you’ll use a main bus from the start and know what’s what.
last i looked at it its basically in super fast forward mode, its very slow in real time, but its just writing bits to an array of lights, same as your graphics card is doing to your screen, if you understand the basic logic behind it its the same thing, just a lot of effort
It's complicated until you learn it and then it isn't complicated at all. Like everything.
Is this game Zig Forums core?
Just won my first game in 28h.
Before that I restarted 3 times by the 10-15h mark, to make things MORE EFFICIENT
I mean, at its core it isn't complicated. People can do even the most simple strategies, like the sushi train in pic related, and still win. However, you will always want to be faster and there is a shitton of ways to improve your speed and be more efficient.
So play the game, but make sure to balance optimization with actual progress.
Factorio is the rick and morty of video games.
>feel like playing factorio
>feel inadequate about my spaghetti factory
>close game
>don't play for a few months
>feel like playing factorio
>cycle repeats
It's a midwit thing
Big brain autismos dont have this problem because their factories are pinnacles of efficiency, small brain people eother don't play factorio or dont care about efficiency and just have fun with their suboptimal shit factories
I managed to get past this by overloading the game with mods, to get a different experience, going through krastorio 2 right now.
Also tons of blueprints to do the tedious shit
Blue science is a brainlet filter
How the fuck do circuits work? This game needs a drastic overhaul of its tutorial system cos it is garbage.
Stop trying to perfect everything
Brute force it all.
Be the engineer you were meant to be. Engineering efficient and elegant solutions is cool and all but if it's taking too long or your brain is too small then just start throwing shit at the wall until it works.
>feel inadequate about my spaghetti factory
why? if it works it works
Just don't worry about it.
>why? if it works it works
Why do I get the feeling this is the philosophy of a lot of engineers in real life
It looks scary when you see it on videos and shit but when you start yourself it gives you stuff in portions that are easy to digest. Nothing difficult if you just go in and try. Switch enemies off at first if you're too nervous. Don't worry about clutter or building unoptimized shit, there are ways to rapidly disassemble everything later.
