Xbox series s has less than 400gb storage

uuuuhm, how bad is this?

>Digital only console will only have room for 1 triple A title and some indies
Pretty fucking bad

that's 1.5 CoD games

what a trainwreck

>will only have storage for 2 AAA titles

Lmao

Smart delivery only downloads 1080p assets in the series S, so you will get about 10-20 games in there easy

Are the Xbots going to rush in and defend this?

Why does this even exist?
Seems like it's designed to trick parents into buying two consoles

>budget console has budget storage

no way

>German reading an unknown third party blog site in Australia posting rumors about an anonymous American with a leaked product
very real news, good quality post

Not at all. Plenty of space for COD, FIFA and Fortnite.

You won't be able to install Warzone and Cold War at the same time.

Dude, this is a fucking publisher nightmare.

It's gonna be interesting to see how game development for future games is going to change by using an SSD instead of an HDD. Cerny bragged about reduced file size in the tech walkthrough of the PS5 but as always it comes down to the developers.

That's true, I heard that it can compress RDR2 to like 18Gb, shit's fucking cash.

Keep ignoring my post lol

Whatever, getting the series X.

it's ok if it's budget, but what's the point of having a budget console when you're basically forced to buy 200+ dollar expansions just to hold more than 2 games?
Actually with how downloads are handled it's a miracle you can get to install two

Smart delivery
>4k videos gone
>4k textures gone
That's like 70% of installation size gone

that's a good thing and here's why

To have something cheaper than the PS4 out there. But the fuckers were more focused on that idea than the obvious problem that everything on the SeX has to get gimped for this shitty budget console.

The original Xbox One S All digital had 740GB, so obviously pretty bad.

That's more than enough for all the new games Microsoft has.

>400gb storage for like 1 or 2 full games
>storage upgrade is 200$ minimum for 1 TB
>cost inflates to 500$ dollars
seriously what fucking retard wont just buy a Series X at that point?
what where they thinking

Games on SeS will be about half the size. You'll get as many games on SeS as you will on SeX and PS5.

Developers should learn to compress their fucking games instead of forcing consoles to have TBs of storage. The same applies for PC gaming, it's fucking bullshit.

looks good for me. I don't play COD which is the most extreme example of a game with an obese file size. Fortnite and crash 4 are my biggest currently installed games on my Xbox and comes at slightly under 60gb

It's okay. With SSD games will be 20-30 GB.

This.

Nintendo managed to make two of best games of all time - BotW and Mario Odyssey - and they're only 14gb and 6gb for fuck sake.

For people who'll go game pass-only and third worlders with a low budget. This shit will sell like crazy in third world countries.

I'm guessing it also has to do with developers constantly going for realism and super duper detailed textures. the loss of artstyles in AAA games is sad

>games will be smaller with the SSD
No, they fucking won't. If anything, the games will quickly become bigger as you don't need to compress anything because lol the SSD will load it anyway.

you've got that backwards, devs weren't compressing because then it would take even longer to load off a HDD. With an SSD loading time will be faster, so compression won't affect loading times as much.
I suspect devs still won't bother to compress, but just because they're lazy.

Only thing Series S has going for it is homebrew potential. If it's cracked proper like switch it'll be the ultimate cheap shitbox with ray tracing potential.
