Block but Place yourself out of distance of a grab but safe enough for a distant punish or heavy counter. Count 1 & 2 if they haven't reacted by & micro walk and meaty or something.
A) Don't always play by prediction, it can make you predictable yourself if your opponent is one step ahead. Sometimes it's best to just play the pure risk/reward numbers game. If you don't need to pressure them on their wakeup and can't do it safely, then don't, even if you're pretty sure it will work, because why take the risk?

I play Sagat. I get more damage off of anti-airs than oki unless I got full meter. Even then, I guess wrong in oki and they're right on my ass, which is exactly the opposite of what I want. Also I can't get reliable oki on shit other characters tend to because of my shitty dash.
That not only isn't true, but if they don't have meter, then why safe jump in the first place because DPs aren't fucking invincible and you could have done a crush counter. What are you trying to fucking do, SPD the guy on wakeup?

Not only that, but most characters get extra counterhit damage. Typical low level SFV situation:
>Hard knockdown
>Opponent tries to meterless DP on wakeup
>You use Urien meaty HP
>This gives you crush counter, allowing you to F+MP, HP Aegis Reflector combo for around 30%, into another 50/50 where you have an Aegis Reflector above them, so they don't have any reversal options, leading to another 30%, and stun. If you got full meter at this point, you can do one more combo and you'll pretty much win the round.

I find it easier to deal with dp in sf4, because nearly every knockdown is a safejump setup. in SFV you just have to guess/read them. theres no nuance to it. Game is shit.
