I'm really surprised more games didn't take the "Reconnaissance -> Do odd jobs -> Final Preperations -> Heist" structure of this game and apply it to different artstyles/genres. It's a solid formula that can and has been shaken up within Sly itself.

Or just a buy a cheap slim PS2 and get a memory-card preloaded with homebrew and other utilities. Super easy to find online on eBay and stuff.
You can then load games from a USB HDD or even stream ISOs over your network to the PS2.

I always liked 3 better. Better levels, villains, and movesets. 2 still good though and nothing comes close to the kino that is solo bentley

I also liked the aspect of building up a team. I know some people don't like the mini-games and playing other characters but it was always fun to me.

So would you prefer a series reboot or a Sly 4 that wasn't bad?

Out of the two, a reboot. I feel like 3 had a good end for the series; and making a 4 would revert some of that, regardless if 4 was good or bad.

Exactly this. The idea of Sly just deciding "me thief again" in 4 was the most retarded shit I've ever seen. They could've at least found a way to make it as if he was forced to go back to being thief out of necessity, not just because he can't keep his stealing boner down.

If you have a decent CPU haswell or above run the PS3 version. Works better than the PS2 version for emulation.

I can't imagine it ever happening, but I wouldn't be against a retake on Sly 4. Everything established with the core cast of relationships up to that point was great, and the time travel shenanigans were just a last-minute tease for the future, but I feel like a lot could have been done with it if handled properly.

Iron out Carmelita's character, fix Penny and Bentley's arc, get more creative with villains and set-pieces, and don't end on a never-to-be resolved cliffhanger.
