Despite coming out several years earlier, the Sega Genesis is more powerful, more capable, and has far better audio than its Nintendo competition: The Super Sneedtendo.
What did you think of these two consoles?

the megadrive did very well in europe
All I know is that the SNES games had a better color palette and smoother music, as opposed to the grating Genesis sound and limited jarring colors.
Also, SNES's games were far superior. Genesis has Sonic and uhhh....

Genesis bros... we got too cocky
>genesis farts
>better audio
Both are great consoles with great games back when gameplay was what mattered and graphics were being pushed to their limits on the hardware. Also the respective winners of their generation to be frank with you.
Also both had really good controllers. The huge buttons on the Genesis pad were so comfortable.
>SNES's games were far superior
I'm not a fan of JRPGs.

not really lmao
Why did EU hate Nintendo and love SEGA?
damn, SNES really does have inferior sound.
In what universe did the Saturn and the N64 win against the PS1? And Dreamcast winning against the PS2? Lol it was such a failure that Sega stopped making consoles
mega drive had the same problem the master system did, plenty of color but tiny color palette.
it means the designers have to carefully manage their color usage by splitting 2 or 4 15-color palettes into a number of smaller virtual palettes, which in turn means you waste video ram emulating sub-4bit tiles on 4bit tile hardware
tl;dr
the look of megadrive games can look very starved for color on some games (ports) but pretty good on others that were built around the limitations
It's a Nintendo fan, the reality is Nintendo lost the 5th and 6th generations hard. Even the Xbox destroyed the gamecube.
Mario World
Yoshi's Island
ALttP
Mega Man X 1-3
Mega Man 7
F-Zero
Super Metroid
Donkey Kong Country 1-3
Kirby Superstar
Kirby's Dreamland 3
Mario Kart
Star Fox
Super Bomberman
Super Punch-Out
Harvest Moon
Mario Paint
Final Fight 1-3
NBA Jam
Kirby's Avalanche
Joe & Mac 1-2
Killer Instinct
Super R-Type
Gradius 3
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs
Super Nintendo was an absolute smasher, not even including JRPGs.
I'll give you Toejam & Earl though.
>Genesis has Sonic and uhhh....
No one who says this can even name five Genesis games that aren't Sonic.
Both are worth playing.
Snes has a better controller, and I always mute the audio so sound doesn't matter to me.
I like the megadrive but sound has been the worst aspect of it. Just because you can piggyback the stereo headphone into your speakers doesn't make the audio "better"
>F-Zero
>Donkey Kong Country 3
>Mario Kart
>Star Fox
>Mario Paint
>Final Fight 1-3
>Killer Instinct
>Gradius 3
Why exactly these?
>I like the megadrive
wrong
dynamite headdy
gunstar heroes
vectorman
shinobi
ristar
ALL
shit
GenesisDrive has nogaems
Streets of Rage
Ristar
Gunstar Heroes
Dyanimite Heady
Toejam & Earl
Kid Chameleon
Castle of Illusion
Wily Wars
The Genesis had games, but not enough to beat the Snes
>Wrong
>ALL shit
You've never played any of those games, have you?
Both consoles had their strong and weak points. This goes for audio as well. SNES had some great orchestra music that couldn't really be replicated on Genesis sound chip, while the Genesis did better with anything techno, or with emphasis on drums and bass, and as long as devs avoided using the god-awful GEMS driver.
SNES is more powerful and has a more advanced audio chip. So no, you're wrong.
>I like the system
>but also one of its best elements? Yeah that's actually its worst.
>No I've only ever played sonic and nba jam, that's how I know I'm right
>did you ever see the doom32x youtube video? I mean, come on!
It is a pretty safe & underwhelming list with a lot of questionable inclusions
Nice try. I had a Genesis growing up though. I owned Sonic 1-3 & K of course. Sonic Spinball, Toejam & Earl 1 and 2, and Aladdin.
We would rent some Home Alone game and I think Clayfighters? Oh and some Jurassic Park game.
But honestly we only got around to trying out more Sega games when we started emulating in the late 90s. And That's when I got to try Vectorman, Boogerman, the Genesis version of Earthworm Jim, Ballz, Streets of Rage, Beyond Oasis, and some other unmemorable titles. Pretty weak selection. Emulating the SNES was on the other hand mind blowing.
>SNES is more powerful
Yeah, with add-on chips.
>Why exactly these?
Why not? They're good. Or at least were good during their time. You kind of had to be there to understand Star Fox. Early 3D and all. And for Mario Paint, me, my brother and friends would make our own animations alone, while the others waited in another room. And then show each other the surprise. It was pretty nerdy in retrospect, but a lot of fun.
I wouldn't some most of those games "The best of the snes", but that does'nt change the fact that the Snes had a lot of more great games than the MegaDrive
I recently put a lot of time into getting good and beating Bloodlines. I was BLOWN AWAY at how good it looked, sounded, and played. People recommend me some more Sega gems.
T. Child nintendolt
>The Genesis was more powerful
Yeah, with the SegaCD infection, and the 32X tumor
Because they were raised on jank games like Dizzy, Hugo, and Asterix
>Why did EU hate Nintendo and love SEGA?
Nintendo didn't bother localizing in more languages.
What the fuck are you talking about?
I can count on my fingers the games that use the sound chip in the best way possible with amazing soundtracks but the fact of the matter is the sound chip on the SNES is far better and sounds better
The best parts of the system are literally everything else but the sound chip
>better audio
Not with that shit FM Synth chip. Sega did have the upper hand in not censoring their games, though.
>Why exactly these?
DKC2 is probably the best 16 bit platformer of all time.
Pretty much all the classics you heard about:
Phantasy star
Herzog zwei
Thunder force series
Shining force
Contra
Etc
It’s 2020 and not playing both makes you a retard
SNES has better RPGs and the Genesis has better arcade ports and action games
It's clearly based on pure gameplay and soul, which both Sony and Microsoft lacked with every new console after their first one.
I've been on the fence about getting this game. Does it have longevity? Or is it a one-trick pony and every level has essentially the same goal?
*Wheeze*
