Purple aura enemies are like Red Phantoms from Demon Souls. Fuckton HP and damage, to reduce that you gotta ki break them.
Also some enemies are swapped for different ones. Dream of the Wise however goes even further with that and adds all of DLC enemies into the maingame.

Give me gimmicky and weird ideas for builds that don't completely suck ass.

I was playing through Nioh 1 but the game is very monotonous. I’ve been fighting the same enemies in every stage despite me moving through different overworlds. The geography is very flat and boring. Basic sword slashes are good enough to kill most enemies; I don’t really need to use fancy techniques or switch weapons. I should probably jump back into it but man I’m just not feeling it.

Idk man 2 is a massive stepup in that department IMO.
All my friends who were lukeworm at best for 1 because of enemy and level design are loving 2.

There has to be a reason in coding why they can't let you multi select items for soul matching, it'd make things so easy to raise + values. Say you had 4 +1 items, multi select them all and boom out pops a +3.

It's very easy to play NG with one weapon, in one stance and even with one attack, never using skills. The combat in these games is truly what you make it. It's why versatility is one of the best things in Nioh 2 I think. It gives bonuses based on how amny different skills you use during combat, so it forces people to use all the different parts of their weapon and really opens up combat.

So how do I get good with the fists? This is my third playthrough, and the fists just don't feel as strong/fun as the odachi or switchglaive, maybe it was a mistake of me to match them with omyo.

Finding that LobosJR liked and aprroved Nioh 2 killed any interest I had on the game.
It's not that I care about e-celebs, but the guy is the most stereotypical Soulsborne retard of al the Soulsborne retards and knowing that the game pandered to him gives me a very bad feeling.

Honestly? One of those I thought about the most, either that or 7 Takemikazuchi/6 Owatatsumi to have some elemental diversity. Mainly because Lightning Gods core is a solid 1800x3 damage without any special bonuses on top.
But the rist of stumbling into an enemy immune to your shit is kinda scary.
