I played this game in february and if you upgrade your weapons anf stats accordingly you never have to grind unless you go for the optional bosses

I didn't have to grind a second in Chrono Trigger. In fact, Chrono Trigger is possibly one of the easiest JRPGs I've ever played and it's part of what stops me from rating it as highly as a lot of people do.

It's weird how the game doesn't let you choose difficulty, it's set on normal and you can't change it. Probably because it's the first RPG in the series? I dunno, the battle system seems pretty straight forward from what I played so far.

You'll be fine, it's very easy to understand, there's even a just defend feature, I'm playing the PS4 version so you press O right before the enemy attacks. It's just reduced damaged when you just defend, like if the attack does 20 damage, the just defend makes the attack 16 damage, when you just the defend, you might even completely evade the attack but it's not often
