So what's happening with the redone PC port...

So what's happening with the redone PC port? I hear they've found the source code and a couple of guys to improve it last year and then nothing since.

It was just two guys working on it as a side project. One of them got cancer.

bump

this

>one of them got cancer
fucking hell

>One of them got cancer.
Fucking COVID takes another

To clarify on this user's point, it's stage 4 cancer. Which means sooner or later he be in a coffin six feet under.

I don't think it's happening anytime soon.
1. They can't release the source code to the community because it's full of third-party middleware.
2. They don't want to pay anyone to fix it, so only Volition employees that are open to work for free can actually fix it.
3. One of those two employees has stage 4 cancer.

It'll be a while user, Corona likely has it delayed as is and since one of them is battling cancer I wager work on it has come to a halt.

it's not COVID it's a stage 4 Cancer

I'm not him but I think it was a joke, user.

>tfw prefer SR1 to SR3
Is there something wrong with me?

Shit, source that he has cancer?

>Could have had a full team working on it
>Instead get a remaster of fucking 3
Hope that other dev gets better, I'm glad they give enough of a shit to even attempt this regardless.

Poor fucking guy.

>join Volition
>get cancer
I blame it on Agents of Mayhem

They could remaster the first two game if they really wanted to, they never lost the source code to the console versions.

No. SR1 is clearly superior. Series went downhill with SR3, with SR4 it jumped shark and never recovered

Nope. 1 was unique. 3 was a much worse version of 2.

>They don't want to pay anyone to fix it
Dumbasses. Probably could've made more and spent less money than Agents of Mayhem

It's a free patch for a very old game. I don't think it would have made more money than Agents of Mayhem.

kek

I NEED A GANGSTA BITCH

he was in before IIRC

I remember the first time I played SR2, I had never heard N.Y. State of Mind and thought it was kinda whatever. Many years later it's one of my favorite rap tracks.

Somehow I thought it's only free for old SR2 owners

>Spread to his lungs
Guy's unfortunately fucked

And you are right. New users obviously are going to get the updated version too. But my point is that past a certain deadline, corporations just stop caring about their old games because the vast majority of profit is generated in the first three months max. Saints Row 2 for PC was released in 2009.
Ubisoft now has the complete source code to HoMM3 and they never bothered to fix the HD edition to include the expansions.

What a guy. Fuck this earth.

I really do hope he lives to see the fixed version get released.

>Idolninja has cancer
>All the fags who made SR3 and 4 are presumably in good health
Fuck this gay earth

Don't open this.

>The five-year survival rate for those diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer is less than 10 percent.

Goddamn, excuse the pun but that guy is a saint to be getting back to work on SR2 within a year of getting stage 4 cancer.

We don't deserve this fucking champion.

It's difficult to really state how much he fucking loves Saints Row 2. From creating Gentlemen of the Row in an attempt to fix the PC port, to becoming an actual community manager for Saints Row, to fucking hunting down the PC source code and then using his free time to work on a patch that uses the code to fix the broken PC port? And wants the fixed SR2 to be his LEGACY?

>There's only one guy with taste left at Volition and he's dying
>Meanwhile everyone else is just working on more shovelware

Two guys at Volition are working for free to fix the port IIRC. IdolNinja and Thomas "Minimaul" Jepp.

>fix a great game
>get stage 4 cancer
>literally dying
>"hey man you're fine finish the game now"
what?

What kind overgrown miscarriage do you have to be to bitch at a man for getting cancer and not being able to work on a videogame

To be fair Saints Row 2 is easily the best of the series and a damn good game itself.
