>Mario game
>no powerups
I sleep.
Piece of shit game with half the worlds of Mario 64. People defend this trash?
its just boring
just did 120 stars in m64 which was great. sunshine feels like a chore.
>Blue Coins
Rushed, but still alright.
It was rushed for release. A longer development s time would've allowed them to create more stages and fill out the game with meaningful content instead of blue coins.
That's basically it, the base frame work is good.
No? The camera is a piece of shit and Mario feels like ass to control compared to Mario Odyssey.
Mario controls fine, but I can concede that the game has some camera issues. I maintain that it's the lack of content that brings the game down the most.
I do not like the controls at all. Just finished the game this week. Galaxy games and odyssey just feel so good to move around. I even think 3d land and world handled well
nothing?
Somehow despite being rushed they still made the most immersive main series mario game ever full of memorable moments. Sure, the game should have been much better, but what it accomplished is still worth praise.
Blue coins and the shadow mario levels
the lack of worlds really sucks
Fpbp
Mario Sunshine had a lot of soul and yet still had a shitty rush job development bring it down/
The good:
>cohesive world and level design
>best hub world in a Mario game
>shine progression made sense story wise
>tight controls
>FLUDD was fun to use and added more than just movement options
>comfy atmosphere
>seeing the world get brighter as you get more shines
>seeing every level in the game no matter where you were at
The bad:
>shitty coding/clipping in numerous areas
>blue coins to 100% the game
>horribly designed/tested challenges
>lots of things done to artificially pad the game length out and waste player's time, such as the yoshi and boats in isle delfino
>no point in 100%ing the game, progress is locked to beating the 7th shine of every level, unlock 64 where progress was locked behind star count which allowed you to skip challenges if you wanted to
>awkward and frustrating controls in certain sections of the game
>RNG challenges like the casino and pachinko level
>forced Yoshi sections where Yoshi is unfun to play and slowly loses health over time
It was so good and so fucking frustrating at the same time. If they went back to the drawing board to redesign a few things and polish it up a bit more it would easily be the best 3D Mario game.
>FLUDD is a tacked on gimmick that you either love or hate
>Levels are pretty boring
>Level design is way too demanding for how slippery and imprecise the controls are
>There isn't so much a difficulty curve as a series of brick walls
I dropped it around the point where the hotel is infested with Boos
>Add bonus collectibles that can be completely ignored and only serves as more content for bored completionists to Gamecube game
>"REEEE IT'S SHIT"
>Do the same thing in BoTW, except multiple the amount by 4 and spread them out in a large, barren grass field
>Make the reward a literal turd for anyone autistic enough to do it
>"GAME OF THE DECADE!!"
Why are Switch fanboys like this
>Mario controls fine
Fine is retarded when you already had a game where he controls great. Doing something worse is a literal choice at that point. Stop being an insufferable Nintendo apologist.
>Game gives you a cool reward for collecting everything, but it's a chore, so you end up having a bad time
vs
>Game gives you shit for collecting everything, and it's even more of a chore, so there is no reason for you to do it
>A cool reward for collecting everything
You get sunglasses and a hidden photo at the end. It's a neat little hidden extra but it's not some bonus ending or level or anything.
>Game gives you shit for collecting everything, and it's even more of a chore, so there is no reason for you to do it
And somehow you act like this is good game design. You're delusional.
> Shadow Mario
Fuck that absolute cunt.
That’s the best part of the game, you got filtered
Nothing because I wasn't filtered by a kid's game.
Glad that you enjoy it, but there's a reason why the game is as divisive as it is.
It never got a sequel
>What went wrong?
Character based around how enjoyable his jumping mechanic is
make the game about hovering with a janky jetpack
Miyamoto for some reason thought their next flagship console after the GameCube should launch not with a 3D Mario like Nintendo 64, but with some weird, shitty experimental Resident Evil knock-off featuring Luigi that lasts 2 hours of game time, so then the execs lit a fire under his ass to shit out a Mario and Zelda to help sell those cubes, and the end result are 2 rushed pieces of cel-shaded shit called Super Mario Shitshine and Wind Wanker.
Nice try. Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine were the first mainline Zelda and Mario games where Miyamoto had no supervisory/director role outside of being a producer. He also only acted as producer for Luigi's Mansion as well.
>FLUDD is a tacked on gimmick that you either love or hate
FLUDD's no different than cappy, and its necessary given how difficult the game can be for some people.
>Levels are boring
this is subjective no matter what but i completely disagree. Compared with odyssey the levels feel way more bright and alive, especially comparing the early stages from each game (cascade and sand kingdom especially are so fucking dull), though Corona Mt. is pretty fucking awful while every 3d mario since has nailed the ending.
>Level design is way too demanding for how slippery and imprecise the controls are
Also disagree, FLUDD gives the player so much room to mess up. The level design is small, and all the platforms are placed compact together and placed in abundance. This makes maneuvering around and making your own routes so easy, especially using FLUDD.
>There isn't so much a difficulty curve as a series of brick walls
Agreed, but every 3d mario has this issue. Especially odyssey with some moons just being pathetically easy to get while others require much more effort, and you get rewarded the same thing either way. (i wish most of those stupid filler moons was replaced with blue coins or something)
I'd give it another shot user, its not as innovative as other 3d mario games but it sure is more fun.
Blue coins
Sunshine has the most precise of all the games and he isn't slippery at all. But that is what makes it so difficult because of how tight he controls.
You have access to different upgrades . You can run really fast and jump really hight. You also get a jetpackand can LARP as italian CJ, what more do you want ?
the port is shit
