HGSS has gym rematches but even getting one leader to agree is a gigantic pain in the ass. you have to change the clock on your DS, call them on that day, then change your clock again to rematch them. what a pain in the ass.
I'm tired of dumb 22-25 year olds pretending HGSS are the peak just because they looked nice and had following Pokemon. the game is slow as shit thanks to it being in the awful gen 4 engine (compared to the fast as shit gen 3 engine that lets you blow through battles if you know what you're doing).
emerald was the best Pokemon game because it had a consistent theme (tropical island) and had tons of memorable and interesting locales. the Regi trio was a brilliant concept. Weather trio same thing. the battle frontier shits on every other Pokemon game's postgame area. The Johto games, both GSC and HGSS, are peak pokemon. Both of them are so kino I can't even pick one over the other. I replay them both all the time.
GSC is just beautiful, it's just so good to look at and play.

The level curve is still shit in HGSS and they never fixed the distribution problem. Johtomons are still outnumbered by Kantomons 3 to 1 except for the Safari Zone and that not available until the late Johto game and is only one area instead of the entire region like expected.

Both Gen1 and Gen 2 are not balanced. It only started it in Gen 3 and ended in Gen6.

Gen 2 was stupidly brave balanced where they took Mind Read Focus Punch and Screech Explosion to the teams. They were clearly running out of moves and mons. Something Gen 3 fixes.
