>cute game turns out to have spooky shit
boring
>this being your takeaway
You didn't understand the game
Make it be more than fetch quests for half the game
I liked the story but I got sick of the gameplay after the first couple hours or so
literally everyone saw a dark twist coming from the very first trailer
Yeah I would have NOT MADE IT
That was just a trailer hook to get normies to try it out, there's nothing spooky about the game
personally feel like it needed maybe two or three extra big snax bosses, and some areas need a few more regular snax.
Triffany needed to have her own Bugsnax boss. She was the one who deserved it the most.
Hell, all of the grumpuses deserved to have a boss to fight. It really goes to show that Snorpy and Chandlo really were the dev's favorites with how much of the spotlight they got.
Made it longer. You can easily beat it, sidequests and all, in one sitting. I get they're a small team but it really was way too short for how great the world and characters are. I wanted to spend more time with it but had nothing left to do.
hopefully the ending means we get a sequel and also they never do the combat sections again from the finale.
SNAX COMPLETE EDITION ON STEAM WHEN?!?!?!?
probably about 12 months after the EPIC contract is up.
>have to wait a year to get those sweet sweet cheevos
Fuck me. I want to 100% the game but unironically enjoy getting the steam achievements for it. I hope at least they'll add VR support if it takes that long.
Why is the soundtrack so fucking good
>PS5 game reveal trailer
>Dog shit looking game
>Free on Epic store anyway
>Lesbian shit 1 minute in
ikr. I need it on spotify so I can make a playlist of my favourites I can listen to while I'm wage slaving.
It isn't free on Epic, just PS+
Its free on Epic store
it is not
Remember to refund for inappropiate content while you still can.
I beat the game today, pretty enjoyable experience overall but I definitely see what people mean where there's not really going to be any replay value.
If I'd make any changes it would probably be
>let the player refight bosses or just have weaker versions of them wander around after beating them so you can get more than just one of them
>there should be a bugsnax list at the barn so you can track what you donated, maybe use it to let you call out something you donated in case you really want to pet it or something
>having limited sauces is kind of pointless, just make them infinite
>having a cooldown for broken tools is fine but there's not really a point to having a cooldown on recalled tools aside from just annoying the player, since you'll only be recalling them if you realize you need it right away.
>Grumpus dialogue should progress based on their side stories rather than the main story, in general there should be more random dialogue. Like it's weird talking to a Grumpus after getting some personal revelation out of them, and then they're still just talking about the campfire incident when you talk to them again afterward
>Floofty and Shelda need longer side quests. Feels like you do shit all for them and then they're just suddenly emotionally resolved.
It's a solid 7/10 kino despite all that though.
The art looks better than the game. Bugsnax should be a 2d cartoon.
Agreed on all counts. But I'd still give the game an 8, it just clicked with me really well.
3D can never do justice to 2D art
Bugsnax limbs typed this post.
I think people are probably right about the fast travel thing, sometimes you spend a good amount of time just walking back to town
This is fine. The problem is that it was too little too late. It should have turned into a hardcore gory M rated game halfway in.
>the speedrun is 20 minutes long
How m.youtube.com
The very first 5 minutes when eating a bugsnax altered their body into that bugsnax/food item + Liz’s disappearance should have sent warning bells going in your head. Only little children would not have caught on. You don’t have the mind capacity of a child, right?
It's the same guy who does the art for Spelunky: Justin Chan. His stuff is great, fits this game amazingly. The postcards in the credits are ridiculously cute.
I'm a sucker for good art.
Would have been darker if the town or someone in town ate elizabeth after she turned too much from eating the bugsnax herself.
I'd not spend half my budget for fags to shill my game on Zig Forums.
He fucked up by giving the snax real bulging eyes instead of flat googly eyes
My only complaint is they dont look like muppets in the art
what was it?
>GOTY
No. Get rid of the cast.
Make it monster rancher: bugsnax
This would have been awful. And if the game was rated M, or even T, there would have been no question it was going to get dark and would ruin the first 90% of the game.
Have devs that don't list their pronouns.
This.
Why couldn't I fucking breed Bugsnax?
Muppets are kind of hard to portray in drawings since they're mainly conveyed through the jank movement, the second best way to do it would be through physical tells like seams, dead unmoving eyes, felt texture etc which aren't really part of the grumpus designs, and the third one is hard to convey in a cartoon 2D style. But I do get your complaint.
I don't know if they're actually supposed to have flappy muppet heads for real or if that was just the only way they could animate them talking under indie constraints.
user do you want to animate every type of bugsnaxes orgasm animations
seriously,do you? I want bugsnax sex and breeding mods now
Fuck you the characters are the best part of the game. I get if you went into it wanting slime rancher you'd be disappointed but they did a fantastic job with the writing and I loved it.
the problem is that they were already settled with the meme dark twist of the game
