How the fuck did this game get so many 10/10s?

How the fuck did this game get so many 10/10s?
It's a 5/10 at best

nah, it's a 10, dumb bitter virgin

Go bait somewhere else loser

>Linear story in open world game
>Shooting mechanic recycled from last game
>Shitty cowboy "simulator"
>Shitty rockstar shooting mechanic
>Dumb writing
>Boring, uninteresting characters
>Dumb mechanic where you can't look at guns in camp
>Dumb mechanic where you have to walk in camp

Speaking of story
>We have to make money
>Ok let's make money by doing this
>Oh no it didn't work out
Repeat * 6 times for each chapter
>Main character dies due to a shit illness
>The island chapter
>Go to yellow dot, then ride to another yellow dot, shoot someone, then do to final yellow dot

>popular bad
Fuck off

>muh story
>muh graffix

Not hard to figure out, its a movie you play. But this one at least has other shit you can do outside the linear, scripted setpiece tour that is the story, unlike Uncharted or TLOU or other story-games.

>5/10
>exactly average
>bad

If he thought it was truly bad he'd have gone below 5.

Another major gripe I had was
>Wanted system exactly like in gta
What the fuck was this shit? They just spawned in cops outta no where like in gta.
>Implying I didn't like it because it was popular
You fuck off
>But this one at least has other shit you can do
True but most of it was pretty shallow.
It was more fun to just tie up npcs up and feed them to animals than shit like fishing or hunting.

imagine giving (you)s in such low quality b8 threads.

It was disappointing

>Muh story
>Muh graphics
Graphics I can get behind because the game did look great
Story was pretty meh however
I did like arthur by the end but the way killed him off was such a shit fest.
Wasn't too bad at the start, just boring and stayed boring in the middle
The story sucked dick when they got to the island.
Like they fired their writers half way through and had one guy who didn't read what the other writers wrote before
>Bait
Kys
It was mediocre at best

Paid reviewers.

Your points make you seem like you're still in high school. I really hope you're not older than 15, because this post coming from a grown ass man would be embarrassing

>534114156
thanks for the (you). your low quality b8 still not getting one tho

Because you can just get lost in it wandering around without a reason.
I only played the actual story through like once, but on a big screen with a decent computer, that game has some of the best freeplay.
I just walk around in Saint Denis for hours sometimes saying howdy, getting a haircut, seeing a theatre show.
Then wander out into the swamps and go hunting for whatever I come across. Leisurely trot back to return the pelts and trade the meat and other shit.

The most impressive thing about that game is the world they made. So much detail, variety of environment, interactions and activities. The random little side quests where you help someone back to their ranch or whatever while shooting the breeze.
The storyline and such is just an accoutrement to me.

You do you OP, but some people are fine with the simple pleasures.
I think if you hate the storyline, then even then the lowest you can really give the game overall is a 7/10.

it's objectively a 10/10 game.
Your opinion is just your opinion

They made a big world with a lot of things but they made it too shallow to worth do any of it for more than once

It's unplayable 2/10 max. You are forced to walk slowly watch a video talk to someone, follow them slowly, shooting gallery and repeat. Also the characters are boring and the side quests are horrendous. It gets a 2 because it's pretty and not very buggy.

The first red dead redemption is way better. This one just made everything feel slow as fuck.

Man, I love open world games, and I pirated this game, couldn't bring myself to play this after the prologue, it's been on my pc for about 4 weeks now, and I don't have any drive to even bother myself with it. It looks high quality, why is it so boring? Never felt like it with any other game.

"critics" and casuals will gobble up whatever shit Rockstar plops out into their mouth.

Rockstar is notorious for being manipulative when it comes to review scores, at least in the past.

I don't know if they've ever straight up paid people for great reviews, but palms certainly got greased. Publications who give less than stellar reviews have gotten blacklisted.

Industry nepotism, film school and industry rejects cant make it so they resort to writing about film and academic aspects of video games. In return they get free merch, games / consoles to try out and invites to events.
It all comes down to the fact that the "journalists" cant stop sucking corporate cock to get ahead.

Oh look, a contrarian shitposter on Zig Forums hating something that got universal acclaim from fans and critics alike. What a surprise!

Biden won

it's an 11/10 at worst. I'm shocked they rated it so low

I'd say more like a 7 or 8. I didn't think it had any major problems but all of the minor problems like automatically putting guns back on your horse, tons of cosmetic stuff held back for red dead online, overly hand holdey mission design, and stuff like that all brought the experience down a lot. Way too much boring checklist type shit too.

I have it a 5/10 because I did like Arthur after a while. The graphics and him were the only thing I could say I liked about the game.
It get a bit better after the prologue. Around chapter 3 or 4 is when it was best. I'd stop the main story once you reach it and do the side activities.
I couldn't give it more than a 6 after the dumpster fire of a story after chapter 4

Just because I didn't like what you liked doesn't mean I'm a contrarian
I only got to playing this now since it was cracked

>Biden won
Ok?
Good points. I know game journalism is pretty much a dead industry but 10/10 all around is weird. Then again TLoU2 got 10/10s too and that game was all over the place

I noticed in RDR2 the white NCPs are agressive and east to provoke into violence, the black one you can antagonise and push etc and 99% of the time they wont respond in kind or will just run away.

The white man is yet again the bad guy and I genuinely dislike how pozzed the game is with socia/raciall pandering, i'm just glad I didn't buy it.

The antagonize/greet system was pretty cool at the beginning but man is it just as shallow as other aspects of the game.
>Whites are more aggressive than blacks
I think this was intentional for the period piece of the game rather than a sjw thing.
A black man in that time picking a fight with a white man is surely going to be the one that gets in trouble by the cops. Better to just run away or let it go then engage.
Like that one side mission where you "rescue" the black doctor's carriage in Rhodes.

They had the same greet/antagonise system in GTA San Andreas and NPCs would even comment on your clothing and car. Seems like RDR2 is a downgrade in that respect.

Never played san andreas so can't comment on it.
Rdr2 the option to greet/antagonize is cool for the first few times. Then you never use it again because it doesn't lead to anything
