Steam sale thread

40hrs left boys what you buying? I'm new to steam and I'm looking to get some games bought a 20$ card to get some old best of the best games. Im thinking of getting deus ex, deus ex HR and either new Vegas or mass effect one. Any suggestions? Only suggest older cheap best of the generation games please

Fixing to buy yakuza 7 but I have to beat 4-5-6 first I'm not in any hurry

Meh, feels like I already own all the good games from previous sales and nothing new ever goes on a good sale other than the odd game like new doom

I finished blood, give me the quick rundown on all these boomer shooters that are flooding steam.
Most of them are early access tho? how do they get away with it?

the Halloween sale seemed to have more recent games on sale
maybe this one is just a smaller sale cuz it's just a holiday for America

dusk is great user

play episode one on the hardest difficulty unless youre a wussss

Steam developers set the prices for the Halloween, Autumn, and Holiday sales at the same time in three little UI boxes next to each other
So if a game is on sale for one or two sales and not others it was specifically chosen to be that way. I imagine the Autumn sale is the most likely to be skipped since it's in the middle of the three and doesn't have any particular mood associated with it

The buds and I want your best coop/multiplayer game NOW.

Should I?

Attached: Story-Seasons-Mineral_07-04-19.jpg (1000x1403, 418.65K)

im thinking of getting divinity original sin even though id play it alone but apparently its coop

pic related is probably going to take its place for me though

>he's been posting this for 5 years now

Does anyone even fall for it anymore?

Alright Zig Forums. Whats an absolute MUST PLAY I can get for only 5 dollars?

I was hoping Kojima's Walking Simulator would go down further in price.

So there's a bunch of nuboomershooters. IDK why some spend so long in early access like Aeon, but maybe it's just people's sideproject. Examples:
>Dusk
>Amid Evil
>Ultrakill (early access)
>Aeon (early access)
Then there's the old boomershooters that you can get the files for off Steam but often there's a better sourceport for it (that you need the game files for). Including:
>everything from 90s
>some from early 2000s
I'll attach a screenie from a random user who gave some sourceport suggestions. Generally all you do is take 1 or 2 files from the retail game (e.g. doom.wad) and throw it in the folder with the sourceport.
Blood is an example of one you can play fine off Steam IMO, whereas Doom 2 is more what you'd get in the 90s -- so if you want a full mouselook game you'd be better off running it with a sourceport like GzDoom. A lot of the time the old ones don't run in high resolutions or don't have 144hz support and stuff.
A lot of them are like holy grail games where devs figured out how to shooters well, and they're just simple, solid games, often with lots of mods if you want. It's easy to forgive jank to because it's like back when the genre was INVENTED.

Once you got to ~2000, you start getting stuff like Halo and CoD that do their own new things, but often forget lessons like "Don't do hitscan enemies that give you constant chip damage" and drop circle strafing because it's unrealistic and try to be RPGs like it's not an awful idea. It's a bit of nostalgia because we just remember the super old games that were GOOD, like we remember FEAR in 2005 being great but forget all the horrible trash shooters of that era.

then the high budget ones done by bigger companies like:
>Shadow Warrior 1/2
>Doom 2016/Eternal

Recommend some other games to get. Been thinking to get Umihara Kawase but looks a bit janky

If you can stomach the artstyle and like farming games - sure. It was overpriced but with 40pct discount it's reasonable

get arkane bundle

you might as well emulate Umihara Kawase unless you like paying $4 for a ROM. For Gurumin make sure you get the typo patch + the panty shot restoration mod if you want that.

talk me out of halo collection, seems like a very good deal
