You need to do a large amount of grinding before your character is strong enough to enter the equivalent of a dungeon. Start in the default location and massacre a great deal of snapjaws (the equivalent of goblins)

If you skip the grinding bear in mind even the starter dungeons have to be cleared meticulously, and you may get annihilated by a grenade, a pig that fires bullets out it's snout, a pig with 2 heads that fires bullets out of both snouts, a giant berserk sloth etc

Of course, the more you grind the more you have to lose...

I love the game because you can really augment the experience with your own headcanon. I like to imagine what my character would look like and how they'd react to the situations they're in. For instance, I have a Truekin than really early on rebuked a waydroid into servitude and it grew really strong. I want to say I had it for like 10-15 levels before it got torn apart in a historic site by a death tree before I could free it. I found out that at some point it renamed the Fullerite axe I gave it to "Partner's Digital Edge" and I felt so sad to have lost him. I didn't even know companions could swell with pride and name their equipment. I really have a lot of fun with the game despite it being so simple.

I switched my character into maining the axe and found an exoskeleton that gave me enough strength to do some damage with it. You'll live on with me, partner...

I disagree; you can actually get through the game pretty quickly and without grinding, you just have to know what you're doing with character creation.

Sseth mocked a "queer" Mary Sue character and asked for a way to kill it. He also asked for a way to play as the Templars which are a faction of racial purists that are very violent toward non-humans (most of the cast). The development team handled these requests less than gracefully which only emboldened Sseth and stirred up some discord on Discord. Now the dev team is both richer and more troubled. I like the game and that's my understanding so far. I don't really have an opinion on the matter but I think the game's fun and love any game that supports modding.

Yeah, I totally understand where the devs are coming from. I don't think the Sseth is in the right or the Devs are in the wrong.

All I WANT from this game is 2 things:
1. Make the world alive. Make it like Rain World where I feel like I'm alive in world that's not built around me. In Caves of Qud the world only "moves" when you're in the scene. When I demolish a faction at a historic site or when I'm -6000 with a faction it would be neat if something happened.
2. I'd love adult mods. Don't give this one too much credence- RimJobWorld/Tentacle Cult Crusader Kings levels of adult is fine for me. Anyhow all I do is visual modding so I don't really do it myself.

Currently I always feel like the slugcat and there's no vulture. It's kinda lonely sometimes. Especially after your companion gets torn apart by a tree
