who is the fucking retard at sony that thought this was good idea? a shitty little motor gives you the resistance. watch it end up not being a brushless motor and they all burn out in a month and there is a massive recall. people are all readying saying the trigger are soft and dont work after a week lol
PS5 CONTROLLER TRIGGERS
You forgot the part where those plastic gears get ground down to fucking nothing over the course of a few months.
xcope
sony is done for now
can't say much about dualsense, but in cars plastic gears can last for decades.
Well maybe they designed them to be played by a healthy person who does 1-2 hours gaming on the weekends, and not some fat fuck like you that does 12 hours a day like some fucking retard
Ever think about that, bucko?
Buying a new controller every month is the price you pay for being a faggot NEET who lives in a diet of pizza and only moves three times a day at most
no one who buys a ps5 lol plays for 1-2 hours a week holy shit you suck at trolling. 1.5/10
>1-2 hours of gaming on the weekends
That's a very generous estimate for the majority of Zig Forums
Nah, PC player looking for whatever the next meme controller is, actually.
I don't care who makes it. It's just time for a new controller. Looks like it isn't this one.
>can't say much about dualsense
The the motor drives gears that you actively fight with the triggers, think of it like grabbing an RC car and forcing the wheels in the opposite direction to which they're being driven.
That's the sort of damage you're going to be looking at with dualsense. It's not good for any of the components along the way, it stresses fucking everything.
>designed for people who don't play games
Yeah, that's Playstation in a nutshell
FAKE NEWS
already DEBUNKED
>source dude trust me
Snigger
[Some sources have called this issue differently]
Can you turn off the trigger resistance? Seems like a gimmick that would just annoy me after a few minutes.
it's spiral. it's not gear to gear. you're not thinking straight. yea it will get worn out eventually. who knows when. but won't be in month or two.
This is it. Sony is dead this time for real. This will kill their entire videogame deparment.
We won xbros, we just had to be patient. This time, they are done for.
Healthy people don't whale so I doubt it
This is an engineering nightmare.
One of the most basic rules is never have more then 2 moving parts in a small confined space. I can already see 4 potential points of failure all made out of plastic.
On the bright side Sony gets to sell a new controller to the customer, following in Nintendo's footsteps.
yeah you turn them off completely in settings.
I knew it
Why are xcucks like that?
There are many different types of plastic and some are sturdier than others. I am not sure what kind of plastic is used to make these parts, but that would give you a good indicator of how much use you'll get out of them.
>all readying
thats a new one
There's nothing to debunk, cause OP just expressed his personal opinion without zero facts trying to instigate a flamewar
what you tards are missing is all the electronics that make these faggy triggers work. one of them fails or fuck up (witch they will) then your controller is fucked. better keep your ps4 controllers.
Seethe xtranny
Mark my words. These things will start failing here. The fact that the gear body extends beyond the threads tells us that the piece is keyed only towards the top. That part is likely to break after repeated stress. They should have keyed it all the way along the length of the gear, but that would mean paying a few cents more per gear and of course they can't do that.
t. engineer
huh I hope that engine is not a single point of failure for the button
I know right? They are about to break any minute now.
t. another engineer bro
you guys dont really see the full picture do you? nintendo was testing waters with the joycons and it worked. they put out a shitty piece of hardware that would eventually malfunction and then just tell people "well tough luck heres another pair, this time colored, for 60 bucks" and people showered them with money. sony is going to do the exact same thing now. ive had every sony console, and never ever did my pads stop working, hell my ds4 is 5 years old now and still works. never heard of the wii/wii u controller malfunctioning either. this is the new normal people
GAME. CHANGER.
because those gears are properly lubricated
>Yeah, that's console gaming in a nutshell
ftfy
did you forget the part where they are still offering to fix any broken joycons regardless of warranty? seems like that's more expensive than, i don't know, making the controller less likely to fail in the first place
based
It *might* be ok, the bulk of the contact on the thread is in the centre, so it's less likely to split and tear the end of the thread off.
With that said, the whole design is pants on head retarded, this is a fucking game controller and all they've done is ensure it's overly complicated, overpriced and prone to failure.
What happens to the triggers when any single one of those components fail? Fucking rev up those 3D printers, there's going to be a huge fucking market for replacement parts.
