pretty decent once you use customsforge

The hell is customforge? Not OP but I pirated this some days ago and started learning how to play. The controls are fucking dogshit in the menus but the game works fine. My only complaint is the tuning for certain songs (when I have to loosen the strings) is wrong literally every time. Every time I try to play some System of a Down song I have to go through the tuner, then figure out on my own how to properly tune the strings.

I remember the original Rocksmith had that problem and I'm not surprised these regards didn't fix it for the second version. All songs are also censored so you get cucked with the word "fuck" in songs like Rage Against The Machine but it's perfectly fine for American Idiot to say "faggot" good one.

I heard it's not bad and it works
as someone who plays guitar I want to remind you that the most important thing is to play music that you genuinely want to play

This definitely helped me with my bass guitar, though because my small hands and fingers I switched to a fretless thin neck, and this game just isn't built for fretless bass.
you can buy the USB guitar plug-in separately and just pirate the game and its 2000 dollars of DLC.

I'm gonna pick this one up, lads.
>USB guitar plug-in separately
I'm getting it on PC as it apparently has the least latency. You can just pick 'em on Amazon I'm sure?

Gusic.

Don't suppose anyone here knows if it has any Shoegaze packs / songs / DLC?

>1500 DLC songs on the store
fuck me

Get a real audio interface, don't buy the cable thats made for the game, it's terrible for recording guitar when you get to the stage you want to do this.

Even a cheap $30-$40 Behringer U-PHORIA is better than that crap cable sound quality wise.

They don't work with the game tho

Like I said, pirate.
I don't think so. there's some adjacent stuff like Dinosaur Jr and The Cure but no My Bloody Valentine or Ride or anything.

Also the game has algorithms designed to help you learn, I would almost always do whatever it recommends next even if the song isn't in a genre you like, it will at least try to give you a smooth good difficulty curve and every individual song has several different difficulty levels where they take out notes to simplify it for beginners.

they do, you just need to download this for it.

On my end, that's three times as much as that cable.

If you are a super beginner, I recommend the Deftones pack as the songs are feasible to FC in short time. also Cherub Rock as that is the go-to song id for customsforge stuff

Sadly the price has doubled in the past year, you can still find it around MSRP on ebay sometimes. I still think it's a better investment, but you really don't require it if you're just going to play around for a few years.

Got the XB1 version and I bought that officially licensed adapter they recommend. It was very straight forward and very fun. I highly recommend it if you're looking to learn the guitar or just scratch that guitar hero itch

You could always buy the cheap Rocksmith cable and just use it to learn the instrument and pick up real gear later.

>The hell is customforge?
Site that has a ton of custom songs you can download

I just bought the game on PC. I'm getting RS ASIO to run it with my sound card, since that fucking real tune cable is the worst. I remember playing it on the 360.

wat

Kinda tempted to buy it on Steam since it's on sale, I've wanted to try learning again for a long time now.
But I'm not sure whether I should get the official cable or spend $15 more on pic related. Also, does customforge works with the Steam version?

I've played my copy a few times, it seems to work fine, but it does not work with my audio interface at all, so I always have to change my sound settings and use headphones that come out of my pc, it's fucking annoying.

It's legit good. I started playing it back when the first one came out, then transitioned to that version. I learned to play my favorite songs by heart and to play very fast. Some nights I would play until my fingers literally bled. It's a good time.

Get the sound interface. Fuck that fucking cable.

I use an audio box and rock smith does not fucking like it at all, I have to stop using for audio out when I play.

Idk if behringer's cheap interface will do the same, but definitely don't try an audiobox.

oof

It's good if you want to use it for practice and already know the basics of how to play guitar. It's not great if you're just starting out

Use this guide. It works for me. I'm using presonus audiobox 96.

Pretty good! The PC version has song mods, so get that version. Keep in mind you'll need the cable to use it though.

Damn never heard about this before, looks decent. Never played guitar before can any musical anons recommend a cheap guitar that would work with this? May as well give it a shot since I was fired literally yesterday.
