It has the best atmosphere, music and design out of any Souls game. It will feel a bit clunkier compared to the newer games and it is easier than other entries in the series because they weren't pushing HARD HARD HARD at that point.

I'll argue it's the best Souls game just because it's different. It was truly a thing to behold when it first came out, but if you've played the other games it might just be lukewarm for you.

those aren't comparable, a video game is created with the tools available at the time (at best) and must be played with forever, and those do get obsolete pretty fast. That isn't to say that some people can't enjoy them, I know they do, but that tends to be out of nostalgia more than anything else.
