It should be a remake of the HD collection with MGS2 and 3 imo
An MGS1 remake just wouldn't work, the level design and boss fights are built around the og gameplay and camera and the whole thing falls apart when you update those.
See the twin snakes as an example of this, when you add in first person view the ocelot boss fight and tank hanger sections become laughably easy, among other parts of the game. The directors office area with the toilets and stuff comes to mind.
But MGS2 and 3 would work perfectly fine with more modern gameplay. Just look at MGS3, it's great with the free camera and the level design all still holds up when you free up the camera. I feel that MGS2's levels would still hold up with that kind of camera too. Just make the control scheme smoother like MGSV and they would both be great
Imo they should also ditch the smaller areas and just have the whole thing be one gigantic map like MGSV, this would especially be great in MGS3's jungle.

This is just wishful thinking from a hater. People hated RE1 remake too just because it was Nintendo Exclusive.
The fact the best version from MGS1 is exclusive to Nintendo consoles makes some people really mad.
Also the fact Nintendo got only the good MGS games like MGS1, MGS2, MGS3.and snake on Smash Bros.
