What I don't understand is where the Prothean reapers are, why would they make one out of humans and not out of protheans?

I just finished the trilogy again recently, and I am still mad.

I thought the human reaper came into existence because humans were the first time that the reapers got legitimately pushed back? That there was something in the essence of humans that they could harness in a reaper?
Every other cycle beforehand got wrecked because of the Citadel relay and the organics of the time never posed any sort of threat.

I thought the Protheans put up a hell of a fight, Variks said it took hundred(s?) of years for the reapers to actually harvest them.

Hmmm I thought Javik said it was because the Reapers were methodical and thorough in their harvest. Plus the Prothean empire spanned the entire galaxy which is a lot of space to cover.

I mean, why wouldn't the Reapers be methodical and thorough? They're literally machines, it's not like they have anything else to do.
And the Crucible is a Prothean invention, not a contemporary one.

Even considering that they would have hair in the first place. There would be no reason to not shave their head and save the hassle of it getting in the way of the helmet
