You got two cocky.

Or what if you died and came back as a ghost?
Then you got boo cocky.

Quickrundown on Godot?
Why does Zig Forums and /agdg/ keep calling it a meme?

It's just a decently well-known competitor to Unity and UE4. It's completely free and that scares some people. I would argue it's way better than Gamemaker and no quite as good in features as UE4 and Unity, but if you're just starting out or depending on the project, it's totally fine.

I really dislike the tree node structure of Godot. I want my shit separated I don't want to chain nodes for every little thing.

Within 6 years of its open source tenure and 13 years of existence, it still produced only one worthwhile game - Deponia.

making my game in Gamemaker. Am I doing it wrong bros?

Ehhhhhh I don't know about competitor. For indie devs with 0 budget absolutely, but for anything larger it's got some room to grow. I still think it's amazing Godot as good as it is, the devs are very talented, op picture is one of them

Reasonable, use the tools you like

You're further along than most of /agdg/ so no. Keep up the good work.

>For indie devs
That's like 90% of the userbase for all three major engines. I think if people get caught up going for the "best" engine, they're just going to end up fucking themselves over.

Then just make a flat structure? Nothing's stopping you.

I'm still waiting for it.

which software will allow me to make a low poly sidescrolling beat em up? From what I understand Gamemaker uses its own language and I'm more familiar with Python and C++

UE4 uses C++. Godot uses a python-like scripting language called GDScript. Unity uses C# but it's close enough to C++ without all the memory management shit so it's not hard to hop into either.

fuck visual scripting

game maker (and godot) scripting languages are basically just python with different keywords. idk about their 3D shit though

I use game maker 2 and I hate them so much for the 3.1 update

Godot uses its own scripting language GDScript, which is basically Python syntactically

>GML is python
Are you retarded? If anything it's type-safe(er) JavaScript

thanks, I'll look at Godot first since Python language kinda limits your creativity. If I can't see my project in this program I'll settle for UE4 and put my C++ to the test

>Best update in years
>Stoopids hate it
It's the best thing to happen to GameMaker since extension support

>Python language kinda limits your creativity
Please don't make nonsensical conclusions about things you don't know about.

Godot is cool, too bad it has a code of conduct so I'll never use it or contribute.

It is MIT, code of conduct doesn't matter.

I haven't played Ace Attorney in a long time.

You just have to let those kind of comments roll of your shoulders, user. It's noob talk.

You only need to follow it if you want to contribute to the project.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what you're using. You're actually creating something which is more than you can say for the majority of people arguing about engines. You're doing it.

Based.

Not based, fuck that guy, actually trying to do shit. You're not a real gamer unless you're a lazy piece of shit like the rest of us
