Win the coin flip lmao

not get duped by the """coin toss""", find a way to rape catherine's robot body via usb 3 for all eternity

your battery would run out soon though

assuming you're referring to the end of the game, instead of throwing a fit over losing the coin toss, i'd spend the last moments i have left - however long they might be - just idly conversing with catherine, fully accepting the fact that i'm a clone of someone who died long ago, and just being grateful that i have someone to talk to at the end of the world

there has to be some energy left to recharge

It wasn't a coin toss. The game actually switched characters when you got into the first chair. This game is just The Prestige but more pretentious.

what is even pretentious about SOMA? is dealing with philosophical issues inherently just pretentious to you?

Hang with WAU because I realized it was the last best hope for life on earth.

I thought you kill the WAU

You can spare it, just walk away from it

I'd launch the ark, find Simon 2.0 and whoever else is still functional enough and willing to move, and make a trek to the surface for one last dystopian road trip. Try to see the stars one more time before our batteries run down.

Listen to Mos Def -Mathematics. Check it

flip that coin again

How is SOMA pretentious? It's basic normalfag "i fucking love science!!!" black mirror stuff, it's not like SubaHibi or whatever where it goes out of its way to namedrop philosophers to sound smart

how the fuck is it that, schizo?

Based and doompilled

I'm being incredibly reductive to poke fun at it and black mirror, but it deals with the same type of basic existentialism relating to technology that every almost every black mirror episode deals with. In fact I'm pretty sure there are multiple black mirror episodes relating to like the transferring of consciousness into machines and video games and shit.

I don't think any other piece of media has succeeded as well as SOMA has in communicating the dangers and philosophical implications involved in brain uploading, thanks largely to the interactive nature of vidya.

SOMA is the game I always cite when people say games can't tell good stories, or stories AS well as movies/books, or that they can't be art.

Yeah, I'm not shitting on SOMA, I think it's really good. Just saying that the concepts SOMA deals with in regards to mind uploading is pretty basic pop philosophy stuff that has been in the public eye for literally decades, and I wouldn't regard it as pretentious

sorry user but asteroid that big wouldve caused the ash and dust to black out the sky. You wont see shit

Nah, its pretty good, its just got bad writing is all

Why do you think this?

Let me dream

I enjoyed SOMA but found it hard to get into most Black Mirror episodes by comparison.

In SOMA the whole tragedy stems from understandable human flaws and fears. People in a no-win scenario desperately trying to save themselves in the face of mortality, or at least trying to leave something behind after they're gone. In Black Mirror they critique society in the bluntest way possible by making half the people in it so cartoonishly evil that it's hard to relate it to anything real. It's like the plot twist every time is that humans just suck.

I'm terrified of the ocean and dark unknown environments, so I'd probably be stucked where I woke up for a long time until I can figure out a way to cleanse all those mockingbirds.

Try to create more mindfucked robo people and maybe make a shitty underwater society

Based

Can simulated humans have children?

>making half the people in it so cartoonishly evil
you'd be surprised user

The great thing about me is that...there so many me. me me me ME

If you didn't get it I would go to clone myself more and make a army of myself, either to rebuild underwater, to work with WAU, to keep myself company, to invent AI to replicate humans as company, really there is plenty of choices but ultimately Id work with myself to try to build something.
Death is simple, WAU is a better simple alternative, but as long as I'm not bored, I might as well try to rebuild everything using an army of myself.
