I remember there was some book series that takes place in a fantasy setting. The protag discover old ruins and sees carvings of strange figures wearing suits of armor with a circular helmet. These are actually pictures of astronauts that the protag does not recognize. The series gave subtle details that imply the setting is actually a post apocalyptic setting where something pushed humanity back to the medieval ages.
