actually, bitch, thats the very fucking reason they could do it - it's that GTA 4 is unoptimized to shit and the dated fucking software doesnt interface with current gen hardware nicely. like at all.

to get peak performance on gta 4 you would likely need a computer with high end parts from its time, with the drivers from that time (and the proper game patch and firmware from that time).

lol no it's because ultra mode isn't optimized. just play it on high, there's a literally negligible difference between high and ultra and high runs just fine on loads of hardware. don't be dense.
yes and ultra mode drops a lot of the optimizations that allowed the game to run even on 2008 hardware. if the draw distance is ridiculous and there's enough shit on screen then even newer cards will shit out and chug. it's like running the fuzzy donut on max.

Play the 360 version on a Series X and it's locked 60.
