This is an issue in WoW too. People just don't want to slow down ever. Everyone thinks they're a god damn speed runner.

you made this story up
not saying this doesn't happen, but you made this story up

>Put long story cutscenes in dungeons
>They are skippable, but new players wont skip them if they are invested in the story, so you cant start the next fight either way and have until the cutscene ends for them

Great idea

both of you are right

If this is the case newfag, type in chat at the start of the dungeon that you are a newfag and would like to go at a more casual pace so that you may memorize and learn the dungeons. If you don't, you better go fast, fast, fast.

no one ever slows down. I completely missed all the final boss shit for the og 2.0 content because everyone vote skipped everything and blitzed it

You're playing a genre where autists don't care about the actual RPG experience and just want to metagame everything. They watch walkthroughs of someone else playing the content before ever touching it themselves so they can do it "optimally".

In my experience most people slow down if you tell them you are new and ask to go slow.

i have this same issue except im a healer and wish i wouldnt get the faggots
with titles like 'ultimate legend' or some shit as my tanks cause im just tryna relax and all those dudes do is speedrun everything and its so annoying. also once had a dps that literally checked my gear before i had loaded in while running a roulette, shits insane how much people tryhard the dumbest shit in this game

More like are not allowed to have an actual RPG experience. Game is full of people who get their knickers in a twist when first timers mess up a mechanic.

god i hate this shit so much, i started playing extremes with my friends and they told me that i was suuposed to look up and study the attack patterns before even playing the fight, what the fuck is the fun in that??? the fun for me is figuring out how to win on my own, its insane that theres so many people who just use a guide to get through everything

That doesn't happen anymore at least. They made cutscenes unskippable in that dungeon. Only took like 5 years.

>t. queues for lvl 70 dungeons with ilvl 270 weapon
fuck you

Says something that you're fucking up at even the dumbest shit n the game

>Wasting other people's time by being a shitty tank.
Ok based

Never acquiesce to those kinds of shitters. Dump your friends.

I've cleared every Savage raid in the first month via party finder without ever watching or reading a guide. Extremes are literally braindead easy in comparison and only turbo shitters would use a guide for them.

nah what he got me on was running like a level 50 and i forgot to take the stupid fuckin yokai watch off
i really hope youre not the type of fag who queues for a roulette and checks every party members gear user, you arent that hopeless right?

>checking gear for normal content
I call bullshit.

Yeah I do this because I like seeing if I'm playing with NPCs or people with a search comment added

No one acts like that in the first few dungeons, people are respectful to sprouts in this game.

But if you keep playing like a retard later in the game and wasting people's time, you're gonna get complaints. Be glad people are nice and don't kick you outright, and learn to play the game.

If you want to have a slow first-time run of a dungeon, make a PF for that purpose or do it by yourself when you're overleveled if it's a non-story dungeon.

I check when I feel something is wrong i.e tank melting, 10% cures, single pull mobs taking three minutes to die

It's not that they all want record breaking speed runs. Single pulls turn a 16-20 minute dungeon into a 30-40 minute one. It' genuinely awful. Even just 2 pulls would be fine.

Some players are dress-up trannies who know what every piece of gear looks like. The one he talked about probably saw some useless gear on his character model and called him out.

in WoW there are addons that do the run for you, you just need to press the buttons when they come up, like Dance Dance Revolution. Also the devs know this and develop the raids around this and expect you to have this addon

Then make a party finder entry specifically for people to go in blind. You're not beholden to to guides when you can host your own party.

thats what had me like fuckin taken back, it was literally just a daily i was doing and this ninja did that shit before i could even load in(was on hdd at the time), then dude played like shit, kept running into attacks and shit so i felt like i was healing him more than I was healing the tank, shit like that is why i have a bias against ninjas now, feels like when i have a bad experience a lot of them are to ninja players

>also once had a dps that literally checked my gear before i had loaded in while running a roulette, shits insane how much people tryhard the dumbest shit in this game
That could be warranted, depending on what dungeon it was. Vale with sprout healer+tank could be trouble. Darkhold could be annoying depending on tank. Bardams' (a Stormblood dungeon) can be a pain because people leveling don't bother gearing up while also still thinking they can facepull everything and have played enough to feel insulted when given advice. I had a mentor tank healer pair who wiped us 3 times before the first boss because they would not stop pulling literally everything in shire gear. For most other shit though yeah that's dumb, unless you managed to somehow get into an all-sprout group that wants to do wall to wall.

>No one acts like that in the first few dungeons, people are respectful to sprouts in this game.

MOST people are respectful of sprouts, it's been like 90% good people in my time in ff14, the other 10% though are massive assholes about the smallest shit that just doesnt matter at all

Make a blind party on PF or be there at the start of the patch.
XIV endgame is based around doing everything perfectly as each fight has mechanics where one mistake can wipe the whole group. Extremes aren't anywhere as rough, but you still end up with players that don't want to take any chances in any content, else they're looking at hours of failed attempts with how bad the community can be.

>the burn with undergeared min ilvl tank and healer couple
all of my hate

>sprouts

God, I hate online video game terminology.

imagine being so shit you struggle in dungeons lmao

you know, with how MSQ roulette is, its probably hard for a fresh 50 to quickly grind out the lvl 50 tombstone gear
having to do 40-50 min runs must be annoying

from faerie,
question for players on other servers, is your mentor chat the worst thing youve ever seen? ive literally seen mentors talk about their trannypills and politics and when someone tells them to keep that out of the mentor chat they get kicked, theyve even told new players to fuck off because they wanted help while the mentors were talking abt what tights they were gonna wear

that's a ff14 term

You know they put a new player icon on you if you are actually a new player right?
Of course you dont, if you did you'd know that people are generally forgiving with new players.

If they run ahead don't take the aggro off them and let the retards die. That is also your power as the tank.

Thanks, I hate it.

Did you try telling them you're new?
I'll bet you didn't

>Bardams' (a Stormblood dungeon) can be a pain
Bardam's is a pain. Always. Forever. And it will stay that way as long as the furballs at the beginning of the dungeon continue to do ranged magic damage.

Why? It's just a term that actually fits because they literally have a sprouting flower icon above their head. It's not in the vein of calling a character a "toon" or something.

(You)

Spotted the non-FFXIV fag. Sprouts is a term exclusively used in FFXIV because they actually get marked with a plant sprout marker to indicate they're new to the game, like a newly grown sapling.

Unless things have radically changed when I played for the first time in the previous expansion, or it's different per server cluster, this sounds like a pretty abnormal experience. Worst comes to worst, just don't coddle them and let them die from their mistakes. As a tank your wait timers are ridiculously low anyway so you have the luxury of picking and choosing what groups to run with. For extra weight, find yourself a couple of friends and do runs with them, especially if you can net someone that plays healer well; you'll get instant queue pops and so long as you aren't being a disrespectful spastic you can get away with pretty much anything.

In random pugs it's expected that you pull your weight, but in static groups I've never known people to be unaccepting of learning blind. Some of the most prolific youtube channels for FFXIV groups prog solely via blind runs to the point that they have one or two people who come into their groups and have done the fight before and they have an understanding that they aren't to divulge any of the tactics or mechanics at all. It's a really refreshing mindset to see, because even though they'll lose hours and hours to bashing their heads against the wall they also sometimes come up with their own unique strategies that work better than the established meta for how to do any given fight.

TL;DR, your friends are shitters. Stop doing content with them and find a static group that wants to do blind runs; you may have to change servers to find people autistic/hardcore enough to do it though. You could try looking up NEST or other groups and ask them for advice on how to find similar static groups.

Because of level sync and daily rewards, 99.9999% of the people you're going to be running with are just trying to get their daily clear.

Similarly, there really isn't anything worthwhile in the dungeons. And the newer ones are literally just hallways with 2-3 trash-pods between bosses.

Once you're geared and at max level for that dungeon, you can in general tank all of the trash-pods while the DPS AoE down the targets. [Break-even point between AoE and Single target tends to be ~3 mobs.]

I finally quit the game because I realized it had become a chore. Nothing about the gameplay or world excited me. And I hated the FC I was in for being way too large for me to be comfortable in.

Sounds fucked. Screencap it and report it, that stuff is bannable conduct. Get those assholes yeeted.

>The "fix" this issue by making the ARR culmination dungeon cutscenes unskippable.

If you don't like it, don't queue up. The reward for the daily queues isn't for clearing content, it's for helping new players and accepting that you're gonna be there a while.
