Ironically PS5 can play PS2 games just as well as Xsex's pitiful total of 39 compatible Xbox games.

Only difference being that Sony doesn't lie to your face about it.

name x1.

Go to the PS store and find out yourself. Literally the same as Xsex, which has zero original Xbox games but rather different new ported versions of the originals.
PS4 has had PS2 games for at least 3 or 4 years now, if not more. Not many mind you, but like I said at least they don't lie by ommission like MS saying you can play "every generation" of Xbox games when not mentioning that only includes 4% of Xbox games and ~20% of 360 games.

>just buy them again

On Xbone digital and XseS you must buy any BC game again, no once more, zero differences. Unless you say diskless systems suddenly aren't BC.

And Xbone/XseX's back compat with 6th and 7th gen is so shit that literally zero of my Xbox games and only 2 or 3 of my 360 games are playable so it's an irrelevant feature.

Uhhhhhh SonyBros????

So can my 7 year old desktop

What's your point?

>2021
>still playing ps2 games
dude

>Rebuying PS2 games on disc and discless systems is the same as rebuying Xbox games only on discless
Moron

>54 ps2 games available on ps4
>made no effort to advertise them or add more titles
why does sony hate their legacy so much? they fucked up the PS Classic, the PS3/PSP store and now backwards compatibility on PS5. what the fuck happened?

Put your PS2 disk in and let me know of it boots bud.

Sonyfags actually believe this.

Literally no way to view every PS2 game on the store last time I checked. Absolutely unreal.

PS5 will be obsolete by next year

What a piece of shit console

This raises an interesting point. Can a Series X run PS2 discs? I know Retroarch on desktop supports discs, but I've not heard anything about other devices having the same luxury.

>only includes 4% of Xbox games and ~20% of 360 games
You made up statistics make up 79% of your post.

Because it makes no money for them. They said it a thousand times, there is no money in BC. MS wants to be the good guy so he invests into it but there is no big money in it. That is why Sony said that not many people would play old games. They only gave in when it turned out PS4 BC would be a good way to keep their customers in their ecosystem and it turned out the new consoles are basically another Pro/X systems for the current gen.

Xbone S here, I can't read what's on a disc with the builtin drive in retail mode. An external drive might work though.

Still not buying a Series S

Is Microsoft going to disable this dev access eventually or is it a "feature"?

It's a feature.

its an official feature. in fact they did it for the express purpose to allow users to run homebrew.

not all people who hack consoles do so to pirate games of that platform-

in a single year the PS2 had more good games in the PS3 and PS4's entire lifetime combined.

Agreed. PS3 had almost fucking nothing and PS4 had slightly more

wrong

?

>can't run ISOs bigger than 2GB
:(

Wait so the sex is an emulator machine now? Can it run mgs 3?

I'd say it's the reverse but they were both pretty bad.
PS3 was the beginning of the patronizing cinematic experience era, PS4 fully realized it and PS5 has doubled down on it.

it's time for .wbfs to make a return

May grab a couple ss models just for bc, retroarch and portability

Jak games run like shit on PS4. I wouldnt be surprised if other games did too.

PS3 eventually disabled the other os feature so they could

I'm keen to get a Series X for my game wants and needs. I hope they fix the 2GB issue for ISOs.

Worked fine on my machine but I had a PS4 pro
