top, not for realism but I can tell the latter is from Final Fantasy which is a shit series

Top. Fuck weeb weapon "design".

Final Fantasy truly is shit in it's entirety

Hilts from bottom with the blades from top.

Top looks practical and pleasant to look at, its simple as that.

learn english faggot

i like both

Somewhere in between.
Its not real life so I don't mind visual flair being more important than practicality when it comes to design.

Top. You can have stylization without going full retard like the bottom.

Top, though I don't really like realism either. I like an inbetween and I even like the middle bottom one but too many weeb swords are overdesigned to death

Whichever has the best stats and/or magical powers

non-pragmatist faggot

I like them all
Realistic or high fantasy swords are all cool in my book

>that blue blade with the tiny-ass scabbard
Explain

Bottom.
I like high fantasy nonsense.

Top but with some flair. So something like a ceremonial sword.

Why can't there be a middle ground between practical dullness and snowflake retard fantasy

Top, if you need to make a sword more fantastic go upto something like Conan the Barbarian or even the Lord of the Rings movies, they make fancy looking blades with engravings that give no tactical advantage whatsoever but are still functional swords

i'm a fan of both realistic swords and fantasy swords, but the fantasy swords on the pic are a little too unorthodox for me
these ones are more up my speed

I understand wanting to make something magical and high fantasy. but even in a high fantasy setting you are going want a weapon with the most practical tried and tested design and then enchant it

All of the fantasy designs in OP's image would be unbalanced and probably easily disarmed from the wielder based on how the force would travel through the blade on attempted block or parry

Hilts, crossguards have purposes to protect the hands so your manual dexterity wont suffer on the battlefield but this bloody things look as likely to cut the wielder as their foe.

Not to mention you forge blades evenly so the metal has no structural weak points, yet each and every one of those blades will fracture based on the forged shape. They woudnt withstand the force of blows

Lastly for those that go "ITS FANTASY!!! QUIT TAKING EVERYTHING SERIOUS YOU AUTIST"

Mate even if the blades go with DND rules, IE its magic so its indestructible, each of them is so unwieldy that by the time you pull back after a swing into a defensive form you'd already be stabbed by someone with a far more aerodynamic weapon. Cant suspend my disbelief. Fantasy has rules that ground it based on each setting.

I've played a lot of Final Fantasy and don't recognize any of the bottom swords, it would have to be something post FF12

>overdesigned garbage
at least bottom isn't MH or KH tier garbage
now that thing is the absolute worst

>Pollaxes
I suppose if you enjoy rolling around in the mud all day long.

Top

Never really liked fantasy blades.

It goes all the way through, the blade is bare when sheathed.

Why is the 4th scabbard so small, it can barely cover the top of its sword

there is only one pollaxe in that image

for me its the soul reaver

bottom
i want to collect flashy ornaments to satisfy my autism

Bottom because fuck trying to be practical. Especially in video games. I'd want to slash something with bottom even if it's cumbersome and doesn't even cut as well.
