What would you say are the major flaws of this game? The concept of having the vast majority of the monsters in one game appeals to me, though I imagine it might feel bloated in terms of content.

There aren’t really any flaws. It’s a good mh game with a lot of content.

The styles are not at all balanced and the super lategame deviant monsters are balanced around them.

like said, styles and arts are extremely gamebreaking and mandate that all lategame challenging monsters are hp sponges with aoes out the ass to actually do anything to the player

Despite being a remaster of a 3DS game, it runs at 30fps.

Guild style, despite being bearing the means of an original weapon moveset, isn't 100% true, to the best of my knowledge. When I played CB, the moves didn't flow in Gen like they did in 4u

takes too fucking long to fight any cool monsters

They also decided to fuck Lance with that dumb super trust.

I am not a big fan of the hunter art stuff. Doesn't ruin the game but if I had the chance to remove them, I probably would.

It sounds like I'd be better off re-playing the old ones. Thanks for the info.

It's honestly a very solid game. You should play it with a friend though, peak age is over and now all the lobbies are angry Chinese rune speakers.

I've kinda been wanting to revisit mh2f on psp, because that was my introduction to the series. I just saw a game with cool looking monsters so I got it and boy has it been one of my top series since then. World is trash tho, I hope the new monhun will go back in the areas I didn't like in world

I started with MHFU on a whim because a friend recommended it to me when it came out. Probably played it more than any MH game to date. Might revisit it as well.

I like World overall but I fucking despise how hard they force the story down your throat with not only unskippable cutscenes but also the bullshit where you can't hunt with a friend until all cutscenes have been watched. I was glad to hear that Capcom already confirmed Rise has skippable cutscenes.

if you've played the following generations it's gonna feel very wrong. I've revisited FU, 3U and 4U and it never feels right anymore

The pacing is all fucked

How well does MH3U work on Cemu?

Yeah I know there are many improvements and changes over the time, I've tried out many monhuns but I owned mh2f, mh4u, mhgenx and mhw. So all these games have had noticable differences between them

This is my first MH game, I'm having lots of fun playing solo, currently at 5* quests (village) I use Adept SnS, should I try a different weapon? SnS seems a bit overpowered, so far I can beat any of the monsters I've encountered without any trouble

It is indeed bloated, you never end up facing quite a lot of them unless you get out of the way to go for their hunt, despite zero key quests or good armor.
You also end up hunting the same 5-8 monsters at the end just like other games anyway. Personally it's specifically disgusting how some armors are created ONLY for mix-set purposes, makes the game too META-feeling, such as Savage Deiljho's armor which gives you +23 of a single stat - of course no one in the world would use it in full but just as hyper optimized pieces for another set.

There are dozens of other issues I have with this game but specifically about monster count that's it. Feels bloated, making the room system even more dead than usual (people more divided over specific hunts), and about the same amount of monsters are grinded in the end-game as much as any other game with half or 3/4's of the monster count.

I've used full jho since it came out.

Well, enjoy the +23 Handicraft I guess

The fuck is that, anyway, can't you just transmog?

Early game is mediocre. Imagine all the mildly annoying things about pre-word MH games turned up to 11.
>fuckton of gathering quests
>fuckton of small monster slaying quests
>fuckton of upgrades with materials requiring you to go on said gathering / slaying quests
>gathering is made even more annoying by small monsters aggroing the moment you enter an area
>literal who NPCs constantly having yellow speech bubbles over their heads that don't go away until you mash A through their dialogue
>bulldrome exists
>cephadrome exists
>khezu exists
Also, maybe it was just be having bad luck, but I had several occasions where a paintball wore off while a monster was out of the area and I had to spend like 5 minutes finding it.

nothing personnel, fatty

the paint balls have a set amount of time it show the monster (some also clean it off), I don't know the exact time it wears off, but I always kinda know when to throw the next one, or else I gotta find the monster the next time it flees

>The fuck is that

Yes you can transmog but that doesn't adress my issue of the devs making META mix-sets on purpose.

Actually, it does, you can pick your favorite armor and then go wild with the bonuses and transmog.

Buy Psychoserum, you can get it from the beginning.

-The first 40 hours are especially shit, even by MH standards.
-Painful amounts of shit filler dialogue that you are forced to interact with.
-Styles just kinda feel wrong. I kinda like them but ultimately they just gimp the core gameplay mechanics.
-The mish-mash of hubs just feels cluttered and messy, it lacks soul.

BUT on the other hand, the monster fights are fucking great which is the most important part of the game.

Like I said, too META.

It's stupid having an armor in which every single armor piece has the best stat allocation + slot combo possible. If it was just one peice at least you'd be limited to that choice (say, boots only) because other mosnters may have boots you'd rather have, offering you a hard choice.
But no. If you want handicraft you'll always do savage's armor in whichever slot you prefer, no problem. And removes you from the game, why would anyone in-universe make an armor with +23 handicraft?

I don't think your definition of meta is right, but whatever, continue ranting.
