I bought p5r even despite the censorship for her. She's great but I rooted for the final antagonist because the game does a piss poor job of explaining why he's bad.
The ending of the game made me feel bad, I wish it ended with Shidou.

She may not join the party until the very end, but she exists through out the entire game and typically gets mandatory scenes every single month which leads to a weird case. I would honestly prefer to see this kind of handling in P6 where someone is introduced early doesn't mean that they're going to join or awaken right away.

All the party members level up at the same time and you can easily afford all their best equipment. There's no reason to not change party members for different situations, especially when you can do it mid-battle.
