Yeah, I thought it was boring and I don't feel like ever playing it again. But I liked it more than Breath of the Wild.

I did but i got really bored with it. It gave me flashbacks to playing assassins creed and i had to stop.

It's actually more of an Assassin's Creed clone, which is what most open world games rip-off these days. Even Far Cry takes ideas from that franchise.

Imagine thinking that hating this game is the low IQ position. It is an unpolished mess with very literal actual gameplay aside from shooting robots. Menus are trash, loot is trash, carrying capacity is trash, exploring is not rewarding unless you are invested in the ridiculously contrived world and like lore dumps. Its tedious as fuck too with this awful clunky movement. We can argue if the game is good, but the low IQ position is definitely not to dislike this sluggish, unrefined mess. There is nothing complicated about the "good" parts of the game, see its universal praise as evidence.

Fell into my usual habit, spent hours on this game doing all the sidequests and filling out the map, then as soon as I got close to the ending. I dropped it and played something else. Same thing with Dishonored and Xeno 2. I've got maybe 10 hours left on all 3.

it might not be for everyone, but the story gets better later, when its all about the history of the world. the early game, with all the outcast stuff is pretty mediocre.

I played both HZD and DA:I when the came out on PC, HZD is simply a better game than DA:I. It's mediocre in a lot of ways but it's in the ways you kind of expect from a new IP that hasn't really discovered what works and what doesn't. The idea behind most of its elements are good, the execution is a bit shoddy. Combat is one of the best parts of it but it still needs work. The story was good but it was let down massively by the immature dialogue and piss poor worldbuilding that just lacked any kind of logical progression. They were talking like valley girls and urbanites with degrees in women's studies. The world was far too liberal despite their efforts to sell you a backwards, regressed world. Complete lack of grit or realism, even faux realism would have been better. I get it's fantasy but they should have done a better job.

The quests were Bethesda tier, interactivity with the environment could use some work. I think they struck a good balance between skill based combat and strategy so you can play it a number of ways. I'm very interested to see what they do with the sequel, not nearly interested enough to buy a PS5 to find out. If it does come to PC, i'll probably wait for a 50% discount.

Thought it was fun. The bandit camps and animal scavenging are close to falling into the ubisoft formula of sandbox chore lists, but I never got tired of exploring and fighting random dinosaurs.
