Daily reminder that it's the pirates who ruined game graphics

and not consoles.

Oh you'll support PC xD Haha ya of course you will fucking imbecile

>crytek
Awfully mismanaged company that is now a shadow of its former self. Nobody should listen to losers who got burned chasing trends.

And then they went bankrupt.

Console niggers would pirate just as much or more if their platform was open like PC

How long ago was this? Now a days normal people use PCs to game more, and there are tons of good store fronts that offer good service. Also how do they know it was piracy and not a smaller consumer base?

kek suck my dick, I either pirate it or don't play at all.

They probably saw how many people pirated their games. 1 pirate = 1 lost sale

Sounds good to me, graphicsfags deserve the rope

>1 pirate = 1 lost sale
I pirate games I wouldn't have played otherwise. 1 pirate = 1 chance to actually sell your shitty game

I pirated it to see if my computer could run it to any degree which it really couldn't.

There was no chance in hell I was buying such a high spec game that was getting marketed as a tech demo without knowing it was going to run well.

Bought it for cheap 2 or so years later and really enjoyed it. Thanks Crytek!

Let's be real, if you didn't have a way to pirate a game, you would most likely buy it

No? I would go pirate something else instead.

this, I remember at that time playing emulators almost exclusively, cause I was a retard teenager and didn't know better

And your pirating would still count as a lost profit

Yeah by deluded merchants who think they're entitled to money by default.

absolutely delusional mindset
people didn't buy your game because it sucks

I'm not a simp to pay for games.

Developers profit from people who want to play their game. If you pirate a game that you want to play, this counts as a lost profit for the devs

Not at all. Profit is something you gain, not something the world owes you.

if anything pc is a booming market,
>make game have demanding specs
>sales in hardware sky rocket
>console owners start switching to pcs

At this point you dont even need to charge for the games just get in contractual deals with hardware manufacturers.

If you pirate a game, you owe the devs a sale

if a pc iser upgrades their pc to play the pirated game the hardware manufacturers can thank the game company.

Not really. If they didn't want people copying their stuff, maybe they shouldn't have made something that is easily copied for free and essentially has no real world value. Intellectual property is not real property.

We literally saved gaming from the dull, depressing and hideous 6th gen era. Imagine if you were still playing PS2 games. No. Just no.

this article is old as fuck

crysis was the benchmark at the time so of course was it pirated alot. same with witcher 3 when it came out.

im not talking about the article. Im talking about NOW.
Crytek couldnt take advantage of Crysis demanding specs.
Nowadays everyone with two braincells is making a gaming pc. The soiberpunk clusterfuck will drive more to pcs.

You're right Yerliturk, that's why Crysis 2 and 3 combined sold less compared to first Crysis.

That seems like a far stretch. Hardware companies don't usually pay the devs. In fact, they aren't even obligated to.

Just because it can be easily copied doesn't mean that pirating isn't stealing.

Pirating isn't stealing. Objectively. Consult literally any legal system in the civilized world.

and Tards screech when DRM like Denuvo exist because of

Yeah, I should've worded that better.
Pirating isn't stealing but it's still is a lost profit

It's not though, there is no profit if a purchase is not made, nothing is lost

>it's still is a lost profit
It's not, it's a service problem just like that one fat dude said.

Hasn't happened so far with Denuvo existing. Keep projecting, not everyone is as impatient and gullible as your average console consoomer.

>we lost "hypothetical profit!"
This is detached board room nonsense talk on the level of brand synergy or client-centric solutions.

dumb turks wonder what Crytek is doing now

And a purchase is not made because of pirating. Therefore, pirating => a lost purchase

>what Crytek is doing now
outsourced Crysis remastered and still working on Hunt

>make shitty games
>WOOOOOOOOOOW WTF WHY ISNT THE MARKET PAYING UP DUDE THIS IS BS

Yeah when Valve destroyed the value of games with endless cutthroat sales, that was because of piracy.

>create tech demo and sold it as a game
>game is shit and you need a 1500€ pc to play it properly
>WOW WHY U NO SELL IT MUST BE OF PIRATES

just take a look at fucking cyberpunk, 1 pc vs 2 consoles and yet it sold more on pc than both consoles combined
people pay, as long as the quality is there

Then why did PC gaming become less popular right when the Xbox was released. They could've hopped to Playstation right when that game out and ported a good number of games to it, but it was never the focus. It's really all Microsoft's fault PC gaming was on the verge of death for years with only Valve and Blizzard to sustain it.

A purchase is also not made by everyone else who's not making a purchase.

Even if I couldn't pirate at all, I'd either play something old or go do something else entirely. I'm just a poor slav, I can't afford to spend money I don't have like some dumb american debt slave.

it's not like people don't fucking hack consoles and pirate shit, gabe newell solved the piracy issue, stop charging $60 for your fucking game and people will buy it.

>Then why did PC gaming become less popular right when the Xbox was released.
PC never lost popularity, maybe in murrica.
Now guess how it's biting MS in the ass for abandoning PC and thus losing billions that Valve now made.

What an enormous faggot you are

this is such a retarded perspective, bitch if i dont want to drop sixty dollars im absolutely not going to drop sixty dollars. i pirate or i dont play, theres plenty of games in the sea that are opensource if it comes to it, i grew up on sauerbraten.

If someone pirated your game, whether thats because it had no Demo, and just wanted to try it, or just because they didn't have the money for it at the time, and then ended up not buying it after trying it, that sounds more like a problem with your game than the consumer. Just saying.

That's cool. I also pirate games because I don't want to pay. My point is that a pirated copy still counts as a loss

That doesn't count as a loss because the person is not interested in the product

>DEV SAID IT THEREFORE TRUE
Fuck off. There's a myriad of reasons why AAA PC gaming sucked ass from '05 - '10 but piracy isn't one of them. What a retard.

ITT people too young to remember what it was actually like when Crysis came out

no people who pirate games dont, kek.

So everyone who's "interested in the product" automatically owes you money?

Nope

>Imagine if you were still playing PS2 games

God I wish, the industry was peaking back then you faggot. Literally the best console ever released.

Then why pirate a game?

No, they owe money if they pirate the product

thats where your perspective is warped, a pirated game does NOT equal a lost purchase. gst that stupid idea out of your head. you wanna hazard a guess of how many people on the planet would cough up money to emulate old gameboy games? since we are in the realm of totally fucked hypotheticals like pirating meaning lost money, tell me do you honestly think all the gamers of the world are gonna buy the games they have stowed away on old hardware that they got from coolroms before it was shut down if they lost them? HAHHHH!!! you are absolutely delusional.
