Are you serious? Jesus that's even worse than my corpo playthrough. At least there they alluded to some vague "jackie saved my life years ago" bond once or twice.
He literally is the dumbest character in the whole game. Literally just poor, stupid, and hell-bent on being where the corpos are despite making fun of them/ corpo V for having no souls. The scene where he's nicely dressed before the heist and says "I'm not going back" [to being poor] made me want to blow his brains out right there and then.

I'm just starting Act 3 and he is objectively the best character thus far. I liked the sequence of dialogue sitting on the roof with him. V never offers a serious rebuttal to his question of "you hate the corporations, yet you offer no viable alternative".

I can't believe it's impossible to save him. Why do people compare this game to Deus Ex? They're literally nothing alike other than surface level shit like "they both have augs!" (though CP2077's augs are boring as shit)

You can save Takemura though. That was the only time in the game where I felt my choices (through gameplay, not gay dialogue) mattered. Also most NPCs are unkillable, your weapons get turned off during forced dialogue even if you have cause to kill them.

I'm happy I save after every story mission. I'm going back and redoing this, what a load. It would be fine if other choices actually fucking mattered but the whole game teaches you, over and over, that they don't. Then suddenly for one character they do?

at some point it'll look like Takemura is going to get killed by Smasher and his crew, and Johnny will tell you it's impossible to save him and to just go ahead. Ignore the gay quest markers and gay keanu and when you get to a blue glowing cross, ignore it and look to the left. There'll be a red hole you can crawl into. Then there'll be an area with 4 soldiers. Fuck them up and go save your boy who's in the middle of another shootout. Whatever you do don't go outside until he's following you.

I have a creeping suspicion at one point that montage was real content that was cut.

Disable the shitty fucking in-game radio in the sound options. First thing I changed when I was forced to listen to "UH UHHG YEAH UGHH SO HERE WE GO, AYE, AYE" during the intro drive with Jackie. Literal trash. Most of the ambient music is fine though.

yeah it's fucking stupid, at least Deus Ex made it clear early on that your choices matter, even simple shit like going into the women's bathroom or killing navarre. In CP2077 the only time I felt my choices mattered was the shit with Meredith. I feel like some smug fuck at CDPR looked at that and was like "yep, this is our Ladies of the Wood, wrap it up"
