You can restock your death defiances. The special guy in Elysium fills all your missing DDs for free and Charon Wells sell them. There are boons that refill 1 DD + give buffs if you lose DD

You are not lying. THe health from darkness is great but Dusa's keepsake for finding food from vases is pretty shitty comapred to any other keepsake.

Bouldy's companion summon is great. Gives food, darkness and money and hits enemy for 1000. Plus you can offer Bouldy nectar for random permanent buff.

This is true, but sometimes being pulled up from 9 health to 30 from a stray health drop can be all the difference in many scenarios.

What weapon best uses Dionysus?

Hera's bow or Beowulf's shield for his cast, Chiron's bow for his tech, any gun for the attack.

In my personal experience, the staff for the throw attack, since that shit stacks twice per throw while doing okay damage on top of it at base stats.

Anything with fast hits. For example gun attack, bow homing special, fist attack, and so on. Melee weapons really profit from Festive Fog with additional High Tolerance buff because you can cover your enemy on the fog and then stay in the fog yourself to punish them.

The combat is simpler than it seems. Invulnerability frames on your dashes are very generous so get 2 dashes on Darkness upgrades and spam them a lot. Remember you can dash through enemies and even map obstacles like columns or pits. Second thing is all melee attacks stagger red healthbar enemies. Which means if you just spam your attacks on one target, that target gets stunlocked and never has a chance to hit back. The only ones who dont get staggered are the yellow or blue healthbar enemies. So be ready to actually care about the enemy moves and mechanics when they have yellow healthbars and be ready to dodge their attacks, and with red healthbars just pummel them to death unless their friends are coming at you.
