Can I get away with cheesing bosses?

not if I have anything to say about it
A victory is a victory.
Some of them, yes. But what's the point? If you're not having fun playing the game it was intended, then you can just put it down and play something else.
no, final boss will fucking slap you if you get to him without learning how to parry
trust me, I tried, its easier to just learn to parry than to bait for a certain attack and try not to fail for 10 minutes straight
You are playing as a ninja, and cheesing true monk is cool as fuck
Where is that John Sekiro guy on youtube? His first video is how to cheese the guardian ape with the sword only and then made five other videos of other bosses. They were all pretty funny. I don't know the account name or anything but I found it from it being posted here a few months ago.
it is much less frustrating and time consuming to instead learn how to play the game and beat them normally
It's really faster to just learn to play it the proper way. I spent hours trying to kill Lady Butterfly by kiting her around the pillars, eventually I could do the first phase no hit, but the second one was too overwhelming. Then I just got tired, tried the proper way and actually got her in a couple of tries
>cheesing bosses
What does that mean? Leveling up?
You can cheese every boss but Isshin
You can still cheese his last third, but that requires surviving to that part and saving spirit emblems for MB to stagger
You outrun every boss so its possible but it will turn a lot of them into 15+ minute slogs using hit and run tactics. There's also a few midgame bosses designed to be parry skill checks it might be easier to just learn to parry properly, spirit emblems will become a pain point if you can't get the cheese right early.
isshin ashina in the shura ending can be cheesed easily with shadowfall or shadowrush.
headless monkey and guardian ape have very easy second phases, just use the leaping flame or spear when they do their combo and you parry it.
not really my first isshin kill I kited him for 30 minutes and only attacked on like 2 moves but it worked
Only horse guy and Demon of Hatred, you can get them to jump off a cliff.
Same. I kited the overhead slam in the 2nd phase and used mortal draw to punish.
I spent 40+ attempts kiting him and ended up just actually learning him and pulling it off at the 5th legit attempt or so
Other than a couple of them there aren't many opportunities for cheesing.
Yes but it can be more work than it's worth, and your skill level won't increase so you will be even more fucked later in the game. The game is fairly generous with its checkpoints, you have a second chance on the spot and even when you die going back is quick.
>Using the tools the game gives you to beat a boss
>NOOO YOU CAN'T DO THAT IT'S CHEESING YOU DIDN'T REALLY BEAT THE GAME
Because I'm sure if the character was real he would care about honour and shit considering he's a fucking ninja. From drones are some of the most annoying faggots on the site.
Sure but not every boss can be cheesed so dont come crying here when you cant into combat
Arguing with yourself there user?
you can but what is the point?
the game is too easy
Oh yes, the bosses are retarded and cheesing has never been easier in a Fromsoft game. So much so that tactics that would be considered as normal in a Souls game would be considered cheesing in Sekiro. Anyhow once you've figured out the gimmick you shouldn't have any difficulty with the game.
Just win your battles no matter how you do it
Is that true? The only bosses I remember being easy to cheese are gorilla first phase by going ham with red sugar and confetti and monk
Nah, they're all easy to cheese thanks to unlimited sprinting.
How can you play that way? Sounds unfun as fuck compared to just fighting him normally.
You can get genichiro stuck between the open door and the wall, you can make horse guy and demon of hatred to fall down the cliff, you can keep attacking butterfly lady indefinetely with a certain attack pattern
Pretty sure they patched the cheeses for DoH and Gyoubu.
My philosophy on cheesing has always been: If I discovered the cheese myself - acceptable, if I looked up the cheese on guides - unacceptable
Somewhat, yeah. Many bosses and minibosses have a shinobi tool that's especially effective in dealing with them.
True Monk is probably the most easily cheesable boss.
The only thing I felt comfortable cheesing were Headless and Shichimen Warriors since they're unfun and tedious as fuck. The rest of the games fights are pretty fun
