Elden ring is a medivial fantasy setting with huge open fields like Zelda

Based or cringe?

That remains to be seen. Hype has ruined the industry.

>open world
well, there goes the shred of hope I had for this vaporware shit, even the nips have been infected with cancer

This. Ghost of Tsushima can also be described as full open fields tho so we'll just have to wait and see

Won't ever buy into hype even from a dev I like, that being said, I think it would be cool to see a more open From software environment. If they can merge open overworld with twisting dungeons I will enjoy that.

It's what they were trying to do with Dark Souls 2

Nah it sounds like he’s going for Shadow of the Colossus tier overworld with Zelda style castles & Dark Souls level interconnectivity

Are there any open world games where you can just wander around and find a big ass unique castle you can explore with well-crafted level design?

an open world Souls-style game with dungeons and horse riding sounds great on paper but it needs to be shown before any real judgment can be made
hopefully it doesn't wreck the company in the process

Baldurs gate 1&2

This is the most anticipated game of the decade, it will either be a goat contender or expose Fromsoft as hacks who can only rehash the same shitty formula

Anyone else looking forward to Frigid Outskirts 2.0 but on horseback.

Skyrim

I think the open fields would be comparable to Shadow of the Colossus considering how Miyazaki is a huge fan of Fumito Ueda.

>of the decade
>what is MGS5

>zelda
Cringe
>fromsoft
Based

The Second Law of Based Gaming states that based overrides cringe, so we can scientifically deduce that this game is based

A shit game nobody wanted due to mgs4 being shit
Fromtrannies everyone

It's gonna be another over hyped garbage game that /vee/ will hate, with threads full of "sneed" "dilate" "tranny ring" etc. Screencap this.

should have made bloodborne 2 instead

>Zelda invented huge open fields

Sounds too overambitious desu. Japs, especially From, excel at narrow tight level design. Remember Sekiro was only 17GB.

>FROM is gonna have a really interesting, fun and new approach to open world
>every other bitch ass dev/publisher is gonna copy it because they're too much of a bitch to take risks or incompetent to have new, good ideas themselves

It's gonna happen isn't it

BOTW 2 & Elden Ring are the two most important games for their respective companies. If BOTW 2 flops then BOTW will be seen as a franchise killing disaster by fans & a masterpiece that couldn't be replicated by consoomers & journalists

Open-world is a meme. Too many have tried and failed. Not even From can pull it off. You need supercomputers and AI to handle it properly

I'll reserve judgement for when we actually see shit. That this could be a souls like is the only thing keeping people interested. It's not Star Citizen yet but give it another year without news and it's done.

Its probably going to be horse riding in between levels, almost like an overworld, but seamless and with more to do. Bosses you fight in horseback, items to collect, horse platforming sections its going to happen and its going to be shit, things like that

>FROM is gonna have a really interesting, fun and new approach to open world
The absolute state of soulstrannies.

It's gonna be Shadow of the Colossus except with 16 huge castles to explore rather than Colossi

You just described Shadow of the Colossus, the jankiest, most overrated piece of Reddit trash.

>medivial fantasy
I just hope it doesn't have (((historically accurate))) niggers.

Cringe, these games are always better when you are exploring some dark, claustrophobic dungeons with tight level design. Open areas are absolute fucking cancer.

I hope the world winds up being filled with color rather then the usual unsaturated faded colors of the Soul's games.
