I was watching the 100% linkus Wind Waker run on AGDQ 2019 (Altohugh I respect his skill as a speedrunner I can't bear the cringe of his youtube videos) and then I found even more cringe with autistic donations. Why people do this? Why can't they realize that an anonymous donation without message is the way to go?

Donations can be annoying, but nothing beats the shitty memes repeated ad nauseam by the couch and crowd like the usual "Orbs!" and "Hoype!" and flavor-of-the-month ones like "Honk!" at AGDQ 2020. Covid forcing SGDQ 2020 and ESA to be online-only with no crowd made the runs a lot more bearable.

I can't stand speedrunning.
Starting in early 2013, I found out about SDA's YouTube channel, and subsequently AGDQ and SGDQ. I remember watching the speedrun on Quake, and looking up to speedrunners.
Then in 2015 stuff kind of changed, got a little bored with it.
I watched Apollo Legend's video about GDQ and how they handle their money, and I was also watching Summoning Salt back when he was known for MTPO runs. I remember suggesting stuff to him like "Make a video about Mega Man!" or "Make a video about Sonic 1", but it was always the 2nd game, because he could make more money.
He never left links to music, even if it was good, and uses the same garbage royalty free stuff you find on every other video. Apollo wanted to replace GDQ but couldn't set up the event, and after bringing into light how bad both GDQ and Twin Galaxies was, basically stopped uploading altogether after not being able to apologize because he made a mistake.
Anyways, I can't stand these people who view it as a "big accomplishment". I've got the WR to E1L1 in Duke Nukem 3D on Damn I'm Good difficulty, only took 50-75 attempts, still beaten the rest of the game!

Congratulations on that WR but I think maybe attempting 1st place on Oot 100% (With and without ACE) or that first map doom Speedrun might take some years don't you think? Some speedruns can get very very complex and challenging.

I don't think it has to do with videogames but with AGDQ in particular, I think at some point (And for reasons we don't know) it became a safe space for a group of people that eventually became larger and larger (Like a disease or a mental virus) And more people became hooked to it, not it is completely pozzed and unsalvageable to the point that most runners won't get accepted anymore because some random comment they did even if they runs are better.
