neither good or bad, he is a grey character.
No, dude.
I mean he murdered his wife that's not really grey at all
idk not really. he said himsepf he was weak. he admits his flaws and accepts punishment for his sins in the game. maybe there is no real good or bad person. depends who is judging you
According to Edward you needed to do a crime to do the time. Of course Eddie was also a fat piece of shit.
is eddy a good person?
Not really. He was pretty selfish despite his best intentions.
>murdered his wife because she wouldn't put out anymore
>neither good or bad
Of course he was bad, you fucking idiot. That was the whole point.
He went to make sure Laura (a minor) was safe
He comfort Eddie all the way til the end.
He listened to Angela about her problems. (But friend zoned her)
Lastly killed his wife because she was in pure agony. (Part of it because she took away his life)
I believe he is a good man who lost himself after he felt he lost his wife who was his world.
>killed someone out of spite
>grey
Always was based and good
Eddie was a victim who was bullied thru his entire life. I'd say he was a lost soul. Its sad cause this happens irl.
>'The truth is I hated you and wanted you out of the way'
>'If that were true then why do you look so sad'
This implies mercy killing.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
The "Enhanced .EXE" is also the no-CD crack!
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate. I recommend DuckStation, but most emulators work OK as well.
Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the T, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.
>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Start with Normal difficulty! Don't do hard on 1st run (espec. SH2).
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors. Leg it, or sneak!
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help w/ stealth!
Yes, because he made her happy
>I believe he is a good man who lost himself after he felt he lost his wife who was his world.
That means he's not a good person. That's the point. It's easy to be good when everything is coming up roses but when James was challenged he couldn't take it. He was selfish. Selfish to the degree he committed murder. He is a bad person. All that crap about him being nice to the other characters is the player deliberately being misled about what sort of person James is. The big twist of the game is the revelation he's a bad, bad man.
Are you people retarded? He didn't murder his wife, it was assisted suicide.
>binary black and white thinking in a genre and series heavy on ambiguity
The school system failed you.
SHE WAS ABOUT TO DIE
SHE WAS IN AGONY.
He assisted her death because she was in pain and she could not cope anymore.
Go replay the game.
>it was assisted suicide
Not it wasn't. Mary never asked him to do it. He never discussed it with her. He just up and killed her one day. That's called murder.
user, it's not grey morality to murder someone because they've become an inconvenience to you. That is just plain bad.
No. That's the point
Lastly he was willing to himself.
Drown ending is canon as in silent hill 3 Douglas was investigating a missing person who been looking for their wife "aka James Sunderland"
So James was willing to die with his wife. Sounds like a Romeo and Juliet love to me.
>because they've become an inconvenience to you
How do you know that was his motive? The game intentionally leaves this question up in the air.
He suffocated her though, which is probably unpleasant to experience. It's not like he gave her a lethal dose of something where she would quietly pass without feeling anything. In some ways he made it worse for her. You can hear her struggling a bit during the video. And she makes it a point to say she wanted to die, but also didn't, so she might not have wanted to go out that way earlier than she had to.
>Drown ending is canon as in silent hill 3
I don't think we should look at what branch of a storyline another game followed to say it's canon in the previous game. Essentially invalidating the other endings doesn't do the game itself any favors. Would you say someone who goes on a shooting spree and then offs themselves after is a good person because they were willing to die with them?
>Sounds like a Romeo and Juliet love to me.
So not love then? You do know the point of Romeo and Juliet is that they're stupid horny teenagers who do something very retarded, right? They aren't actually supposed to be genuinely in love. Thinking they are is kind of missing the point of the story. Same as you seem to be missing the point of SH2's story.
no. thats why he wants be punished. a part of him killed his wife because she was suffering but another part did it because he wanted to be set free and move on with his life.
his scum but his wife forgave him and he values to be a better person after leaving silent hil (in the good ending atleast)
If In Water's entirely canon, then I'd say he isn't. He blatantly disrespects Mary's final wishes to have him go on via killing himself. Sure, everything he went through isn't something you can just brush off and get over in a few weeks, but him going out like that felt selfish, compared to his "I loved you and couldn't watch you suffer anymore" explanation beforehand.
That's why I can't call him a bad person based on that scene. It's mentioned several times that Mary hated the constant intake of drugs, just to keep her deteriorating body alive when she didn't want to live anymore. Doesn't sound like she wanted to be around for much longer.
So did James not learn anything at the end of the game is what you're saying? I thought he learned at the end hence why Maria (who suppose to be a hotter version of Mary) vanished after James accepted the truth.
If we're going to ignore lore and timelines then UFO ending may be canon to you since its a "happy ending"
It's not even complicated. He loved Mary, but resented what her illness did to them both, but felt so guilty about both that (true, extremely human) emotion and his mercy killing of her he self flagellated by focusing exclusively on the selfish side. It's why when he accepts both sides of his complicated emotions he no longer needs pyramid head to punish him.
It's like assuming the nurses mean he literally cheated on Mary. His eyes wandered while she was dying, and that is enough to induce guilt despite being an entirely human reaction.
I'm saying you've clearly demonstrated you don't know what either Romeo & Juliet or Silent Hill 2 was about. You're way off. It's not love that gets James to kill himself in the drown ending. It's guilt.
I think those are just Easter egg endings that nobody gets without following a guide. Not really a good comparison. I just think it's better to discuss opinions on the multiple endings the game provides instead of trying to say one is canon and the others don't matter as much anymore. It feels like a disservice to the game.
Eddie Dombrowski literally did nothing wrong.
>I thought he learned at the end hence why Maria (who suppose to be a hotter version of Mary) vanished after James accepted the truth.
That's probably the ending most people get but there's still one where James chooses to be with Maria.
Wouldn't that ending symbolize being in complete denial then? She's just a subconscious iirc.
was fred madison a good man?
