When Raytracing is more commonly doable, artists will be able to stop baking in lighting on textures, and other tricks of that nature, altogether. The workflow of creating assets for games will become significantly more streamlined. That, I think, is the real advantage raytracing is going to provide. Right now, it's more a proof of concept than anything.
