Gatekeeping as game design is a must. It keeps only the desirables interested and filter the hype bandwagon scum who just wants to be part of a ''''''''''''''community''''''''''''''''.
Gatekeeping as game design is a must...
Ever wonder why you don't have any friends? Like none at all? No? Okay then.
No man has kept a gate that he himself is barred.
Only a slave has.
Yes but it's too late for gaming. It's not even normalfags that are the problem but women and their enablers. Gaming went to absolute shit when that demographic got involved. Before that it was the age of Halo CoD dudebros, once gamer girls became a thing we got ugly niggers women and diversity and "accessibility" modes that further dumbed down games.
It's near impossible to gatekeep now.
There's too many normalfags that completely destroys the gate, which overwhelm true fans.
Just look at Xenoblade, Persona, MGS, and even fucking Yakuza now. It's just filled normalfags now.
Not even Touhou is safe, it's been attacked by normalfags for over a decade now.
bet you use skub, faggot
Caring that much about toys probably means you have severe mental issues.
Putting Touhous in your images really helps drive your point
I agree we should start by gatekeeping /jp/ trannies
>spends 1k on gayman pc
>visits board dedicated to discuss video games
>clicks on threads on said board
>types replies on said board
>"Dude why you care? you must never care about anything ever, it's just toys dude"
weeb board, go fuck yourself tranny reddito. lolis are the best deal with it and tohou is literally board culture, and the queen on Zig Forums you faggot nigger
>weeb board, go fuck yourself tranny reddito. lolis are the best deal with it and tohou is literally board culture, and the queen on Zig Forums you faggot nigger
>barely make any friends because nobody wants to play videogames
>end up on the internet
>develop enough brain matter to actually know what the fuck I'm doing on the internet
>internet culture already taken over by normalfags
>videogames pander to normalfags and casuals with no sense of quality
>social media is for normalfags and also incredibly loud
>IRL friends get into videogames after all but only into surface garbage like CSGO or LoL
JUST.
i can't tell if she is hanging on for her life or is really desperate to grab that spaghetti.
>Xenoblade
This one doesnt really apply outside of Zig Forums though.
>MGS
Those games were piss easy and focused highly on cinematic scenes and whatnot. So it was bound to attract people who dont play games.
And this series is dead so it doesnt really matter.
>Yakuza
Outside of the memes, the secondaries wont play the games long enough to even stay invested in the franchise in the first place.
>Persona and Touhou
Those ones I can see.
Correct, but gaming in generall has already been fucked up. Only niche gaming communities are still left, and those are only niche till a AAA studio decides they wanna have a go at it.
Impossible to gatekeep? Bullshit. Its piss easy to gatekeep, i think you are mistaking gatekeeping plebs out with gatekeeping everyone out. The only thing getting easier nowdays is catching up with people, since you will have so much information out there on the internet. Back before there was a wiki and hundreds of youtube channels for everything, you had to lurk forums till you slowly absorbed all the niche references and knowledge that allowed you to somewhat blend in, now it still takes some dedication but less so.
However, if you want to gatekeep people who don't belong, you can piss easy do that by just never lowering the difficulty of the game to their level, and requiring them to prove themselves before they get to throw their ideas around. This is why you see so many forum warrios in niche games, and they always get buttblasted when people tell them to fuck off, or when you show everyone how bad at the game they really are. This is the proper form of gatekeeping.
No matter how much Normies like you want to deny it, but gate keeping is needed evil for some community.
There is a reason why Niche as hell or old games in general still plays the best today and have the best communities.
Just go and compare shit like Project Reality with how trash Squad has become in comparison with it's focus towards espots of all fucking things.
Among us is another great example with how normies infest titles and ruin them. Literally unplayable without friends and if you're enough of a retard to try and bother playing in public lobbies.
>Gatekeep MP game
>Community dies
Congrats, retard.
>HUR DUR
Well done, tranny
Gatekeeping is fine as an element, but you have to understand it's not profitable, you build a small dedicated community and unless you made your game on a tight budget you will bleed money until you get shut down. The reason companies don't gatekeep isn't for ANY reason but that not gatekeeping and being as casual as possible is the most profitable option.
Not if you want your shit to sell.
>people actually care about community and gatekeeping
Just play the fucking games, retards.
Touhou has always had a problem with secondaries, retard.
The only genuine gatekeeping is actually playing games for yourself and discussing that with other like minded individuals. All the semantics about communities is just as aids as secondaries. If you truly cared about a game you'd talk about the game itself and see other people's perspective about what they think about it. Something secondaries inherently cannot do. If you gatekeep people who are just recently getting into a series you're just getting upset that you're a hipster who can't handle other people discovering a thing you like and are minimizing the amount of people who are willing to genuinely try the game and be genuine fans as well.
The only games I can think of that normalfags don't play are Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Space Station 13, Dwarf Fortress and Elona+, and thats simply because learning the controls and figuring out the mechanics is too much a commitment for smoothbrained casuals.
more gatekeeping means less views and money to be made from that particular thing
there is no issue with gatekeeping from within the game itself
the problem is over the top elitism and complete opposition to new people
if someone enjoyed a game enough to finish it or genuinely wants to get in and understand, that's not a problem - it leads to a more vibrant community
>oy vey not muh money
t. Jew
At this stage that's bolting the door after the horse user.
being against HIV is no different than being a homophobe
I'm not saying it's actually a bad thing, just a reality of how it is
Not vidya but the hololive is getting taking over by ironic weebs and twittertards. This is why EOP overexpansion never works
I remember playing Monster Hunter Freedom with a friend who had a PSP, good memories.
>Pretending this hard to be an oldfag
Bet you can't triforce lmao
Oh fuck is Elona still getting support? I remember playing that game over a decade ago. It was crazy what could happen in that game.
>Space Station 13
